Introducing the Omega Seamaster, made in 1954 .

Water and dust resistance in watches had long been a major issue, but with the outbreak of World War II, demand for them increased rapidly.
At the time, Omega supplied the British military with a large number of watches with waterproof screw-back cases.

After the war, while searching for the optimal mechanism for the waterproof case, the idea of using an automatic movement was reached to reduce the risk of water entering the watch when the crown was operated.
Thus, in 1948 , the world's first waterproof automatic wristwatch, the Seamaster, was born, combining a screw-back waterproof case with an automatic movement.

The Seamaster features a subdued guilloche dial and the practical beauty that is typical of Omega from the 1950s .

The dial of this model is covered with delicate guilloche decoration, and rather than giving off a strong luster like a sunray finish, the countless uneven surfaces gently absorb the light, ensuring excellent visibility even during the day.
Rather than reflecting light to make a statement, the matte texture creates shadows in subdued light, evoking the design philosophy of the time, which placed emphasis on practicality.

The indexes are made of upright gold bars with a cut finish.
The three-dimensionally shaped indexes overlap with the intricate details of the guilloche, creating a subtle yet profound look.
It also pairs well with the gold-tone dolphin hands, achieving a high level of both visibility and elegance.

The cursive Seamaster logo and the minimalist layout of the inscriptions are also elements that enhance the quiet appearance of the dial.

The case is a round stainless steel case without excessive decoration.
The lines flowing from the middle case to the lugs are very straightforward, demonstrating the balance between practicality and beauty that Omega excelled at in the 1950s .

The lugs are of a moderate thickness but taper naturally towards the tip, creating a neat appearance that does not stand out too much on the wrist.
The flat bezel, with just the right width, complements the soft look of the dial, bringing the whole piece together nicely.

The movement is equipped with Cal. 491 , a 19- jewel automatic movement.

Designed during the mature stage of automatic winding mechanisms, this caliber is highly refined as a practical machine, combining winding efficiency and stability.
The neat finish, which does not rely on excessive decoration, gives the impression of honest manufacturing, typical of Omega at the time, which was designed with the assumption that it would be used for a long time.

Case size: height: 41.3mm , width: 36.8mm , thickness: 11.8mm , weight: 66g .

With its calming cream-toned dial and neat round case, this watch blends naturally with any outfit.
It adds just the right amount of elegance to jackets and shirt styles, and a touch of calmness to casual outfits such as knits and cotton shirts.
The Seamaster from the 1950s captivates not with its flashiness but with its texture and appearance.
It is a quiet presence that accompanies you in your daily life, whether you are on or off duty.

The case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The dial remains in excellent condition with no stains or wear.
The movement is running smoothly and there are no issues with the specifications.

It is fitted with a genuine Omega rice bracelet.
