Introducing the 1961 Seiko "Liner".

Released by Suwa Seikosha in 1960, the "Liner" is a luxury dress watch created during an era when slim watches were in demand.
The movement is a Cal.3140, based on the Marvel, with all components thinned down.

It is a model that demonstrates Seiko's watchmaking at the time, pursuing slimness and a refined appearance.
This particular piece was manufactured in 1961, shortly after its release.

■Dial and Case Design

The white dial features fine concentric lines engraved from the center outward.
When it catches the light, the reflections change along each line, creating subtle shading on the white dial.

The hour and minute hands are delicate pencil hands, striking even when compared with Seiko watches of the same era.
The applied indices enhance the craftsmanship of the dial, allowing the hands to indicate the time without obscuring the pattern.

It is a specification that conveys a sense of luxury through its detailed craftsmanship rather than relying on flashy colors.
The applied indices are also a rare and distinctive feature.

The gold-colored case combines a rounded form with a slim bezel.
By minimizing the presence of the bezel, the dial appears larger, and the concentric lines are visible almost to the outer edge.
The lugs extending from the case are slim and straight.
The long lines add to the round case, harmonizing with the delicacy of the dial and hands.

■Movement

The movement is a manual-winding Cal.3140. It has 21 jewels, beats 18,000 times per hour, and is equipped with Diashock to protect the balance staff from impact.

Comparing the "DIASHOCK 21 JEWELS" on the dial with the engravings on the movement allows you to confirm the specifications on both sides.
The baseplate is engraved with "SEIKOSHA", "3140", and "21 JEWELS" in gold, allowing you to visually confirm the installed movement.

■Styling

The case size is 42.1 mm (H, including lugs) / 36.5 mm (W, including crown) / 8.7 mm (thickness) / 30 g (including strap)

Recommended for an outfit combining a navy blazer, white Oxford shirt, and charcoal gray wool trousers.

The white shirt and white dial connect the colors, while the gold-colored case stands out against the navy cuffs.
The burgundy leather strap complements the outfit when paired with reddish dark brown leather shoes.

■Condition

The case has minor scratches from use, but there is no noticeable peeling of the plating or major damage.
Some damage can be seen on part of the case back, but it does not affect use.
As verdigris can be seen inside the case, the case will be cleaned during the overhaul.

The dial is clearly visible. The movement is also in a condition that can be used without problems.

●Please be sure to read the guidance after purchasing an antique watch●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately upon your order.
We ask a professional craftsman to perform an overhaul (hereinafter OH), and deliver the watch after the OH is completed. (The period is approximately 1–2 months.)

A professional craftsman with a first-class watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, and perform a thorough OH including cleaning and oiling,
adjusting it to a condition of approximately ±1 minute per day.
We will also send our store's unique OH certificate, as well as photos of the movement disassembled
and serviced, along with the delivery.

Of course, due to the nature of the product being used, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we provide this level of service so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch
and use it with peace of mind in the future, so please understand.

At the time of purchase, we offer a 1-year warranty period depending on the model. Even for products past the warranty period, we will properly accept repairs for a fee,
so please feel free to consult us even if you do not have a repair shop nearby.
