Introducing the Seiko "King Seiko" made in 1962 .

"King Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as KS ) was released in 1961 by Daini Seikosha (Kameido Factory) under the mission of "creating a Japanese-made watch with precision that rivals Swiss watches."

While the "Grand Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as GS ), released by Suwa Seikosha the previous year, was a model that aimed to be the "highest quality" in all aspects, the " KS " sought to differentiate itself from the " GS " by keeping costs as low as possible except in areas necessary for precision.

For this reason, when comparing the two , the " KS " may appear to be inferior, but in terms of being a "high-precision watch," it is in no way inferior; in fact, the movement in the " KS " is smaller than the " GS " while achieving the same level of precision, making it in no way inferior to the "GS."

"King Seiko" is positioned as the top-of-the-line model alongside Seiko's top-of-the-line model, "Grand Seiko."
It is one of Japan's top models.

The Seiko "King Seiko" we are introducing this time is made of 14K gold, has a gold-plated case and an SD dial.
This is a rare KS first model with a shield mark on the back cover.

The SD dial is a high-end model with indexes made of solid 18- karat or 14- karat gold.
Therefore, the indexes on this model are bar indexes that give off the vivid, beautiful shine that is unique to gold.

However, what is particularly noteworthy about this KS is the unique color that develops on the dial due to aging.
It originally had a silver dial, but after more than 60 years it has taken on a distinctive purple color.

Combined with the gold of the case and indexes, it is so captivating that it never fails to draw the attention of anyone who sees it.

"King Seiko" allows you to fully enjoy the atmosphere of a vintage watch.

The movement is a 25 jewel hand-wound type.

It has the same precision as Grand Seiko, but its diameter is 2mm smaller.
Not only is it highly accurate, but it is also equipped with a shock-resistant device, making it a highly practical movement that is easy to use on an everyday basis.

Size: height: 43mm , width: 37.7mm , thickness: 9.2mm , weight: 38g .

It is the perfect size for the average adult male's wrist.
This gold has a strong yellow tint, so it blends well with the skin and is easy to wear.

This watch has a unique elegance and goes well with jackets and shirt styles, but it also works well with darker items such as denim to add a pop of color to your wrist.

Condition: The case has no noticeable scratches.
The dial is aged, but there is no problem with visibility and it enhances the vintage atmosphere.
The movement is working without any problems.

When selling antique watches at Amboy, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is complete. (This takes about 1-2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul we performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will properly repair the product, but there will be a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
