SEIKO 65's 44 King Seiko
SEIKO 65's 44 King Seiko
Introducing the Seiko " 44 King Seiko" made in 1965 .
"King Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as KS ) was released in 1961 by Daini Seikosha (Kameido Factory) based on the mission of "creating a Japanese-made watch with precision that rivals Swiss watches."
While the "Grand Seiko" ( GS ), released by Suwa Seikosha the previous year, was a model that aimed to be "the best wristwatch," this time it was a luxury watch that kept costs as low as possible except in terms of precision, aiming to offer it at a reasonable price.
Therefore, when comparing the two, the " KS " is sometimes seen as the cheaper version. However, in terms of being a "high-precision watch," the movement mounted on the " KS " is smaller than that of the " GS ," but it has succeeded in achieving the same level of precision.
"King Seiko" is on par with Seiko's top-of-the-line model, "Grand Seiko."
Without a doubt, this is one of Japan's finest models.
The Seiko " 44 King Seiko" we are introducing this time is the second generation made in 1964 .
A distinctive feature of the second generation is the addition of a hack function that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled out.
The case back has a shield medallion, classifying it as a rare early model.
The dial is a simple design with a sunburst silver dial, bar indexes and dolphin hands, all in silver.
While offering excellent visibility, the design minimizes decoration and makes the " KING SEIKO " letters at the 6 o'clock position easy to see.
The case is somewhat large in size, and the lugs are made thick to match the case size, giving it a reliable feel that will not be shaken by minor impacts.
The 44 King Seiko is the embodiment of simplicity and strength.
The movement is a hand-wound movement with 25 jewels.
Unlike early models, it has no movement number and features a sickle-shaped lever that regulates the second hand.
As a high-end machine, it not only achieves high precision, but is also durable, easy to maintain, and built with an emphasis on practicality.
Even those who are handling vintage watches for the first time can use it with confidence.
Size: Height: 41.7mm , Width: 37.5mm , Thickness: 8.9mm , Weight: 44g
Although it is somewhat large for a watch from the 1960s , it is thin and lightweight, so it fits comfortably when worn.
The simple yet powerful design can be worn in any situation, from formal to private.
It can be easily coordinated with not only suits but also casual outfits such as sweatshirts and T -shirts.
The condition of the case is good with no noticeable scratches and the edges are well preserved.
The dial is in beautiful condition with no corrosion or stains.
The movement is in good working order and the hack function works smoothly.
The medallion on the back is also in good condition with no corrosion or chipping.
