Introducing the 1967 Seiko "Sportsmatic 5 Deluxe".

The 1965 "Seiko Matic Weekdater" was one of the automatic winding models that Seiko developed in the mid-1960s.

At that time, Seiko was actively developing mechanical watches with the aim of improving the performance of Japanese-made watches, and the Matic series gained high popularity as a central figure in this effort.

This Weekdater model is highly practical, featuring a date display at 3 o'clock and a day display at 6 o'clock.

The layout with the day display positioned at the bottom of the dial is distinctive, giving this model a unique character within its refined design.

As a model that symbolizes the transitional period of great evolution in Japanese mechanical watches, it continues to fascinate many vintage watch enthusiasts today.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial is a glossy silver color.

Fine sunray finishing radiates from the center to the outer edge, allowing you to enjoy the brilliant sparkle unique to a silver dial, which changes its expression depending on how the light hits it.

The hour markers are three-dimensional applied bar indexes.

The intricate, convex shape with a groove in the center creates shadows depending on the light, giving depth to the entire dial.

The hands are sharp dauphine hands.

Combined with the three-dimensional indexes, they create a classic yet crisp impression.

The date display is at 3 o'clock, and the day display is at 6 o'clock.

The layout, with the date and day separated vertically, is a distinctive feature unique to this model.

The case is a stainless steel round case.

Particularly striking is the delicate linear engraving on the bezel.
Shadows are created depending on how the light hits it, giving a three-dimensional effect to the area around the dial.

Even within a simple round case, a sense of depth is created, reflecting the meticulous case design characteristic of Seiko in the 1960s.

Furthermore, the crown is designed to fit into the case body, resulting in a beautiful case silhouette that does not protrude significantly when viewed from the side.

The lugs have a straight and sharp design.

The form, which extends naturally from the case, gives the entire watch a refined impression.

Combined with the domed crystal, this watch exudes the classical atmosphere of a 1960s mechanical watch.

■Movement

The movement is the automatic "Cal.7619A".

It is a 35-jewel movement with a highly practical design that includes day and date displays.

Developed during the 1960s when automatic watches were gaining widespread popularity, it combined ease of use and stable performance required for daily wear.

Moreover, its excellent winding efficiency means that wearing it regularly keeps the mainspring wound, which is another appealing aspect of a mechanical watch.

It is an automatic movement representing Seiko of the 1960s, combining the charm of a mechanical watch with practicality.

■Styling

Case size: length 43.3mm (including lugs) / width 37.8mm (including crown) / thickness 13.3mm / weight 58g

The glossy silver dial and sharp case design pair well with formal attire such as shirts and jackets.

Due to its clean design, it also blends naturally with casual styles like knitwear, cardigans, and denim, adding a subtle vintage touch to your wrist.

The distinctive bezel design and case silhouette subtly peek out from the cuff, adding a 1960s presence to even simple outfits.

■Condition

The crystal has been replaced with a genuine new glass crystal.

You can enjoy the beauty of the dial with clear visibility without compromising its original charm.

The case, dial, and movement are also in good condition.

Since we have overhauled the watch, you can use it with peace of mind after purchase.

Maintaining an excellent condition that belies its 1965 manufacturing year, this timepiece combines the ambiance of a vintage watch with practicality.

●Important information after purchasing an antique watch, please read carefully●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not deliver them immediately after receiving your order.
Instead, we request a complete overhaul (hereinafter referred to as OH) by a specialized craftsman and deliver it after the OH is completed. (This process takes approximately 1 to 2 months.)

A specialized craftsman with a Class 1 watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean, lubricate, and perform a thorough OH, servicing it to an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per day.
Furthermore, upon delivery, we will send you our unique OH certificate, which details the work performed during the OH, along with photos of the movement disassembly and servicing.

Of course, due to the nature of used products, there is no absolute guarantee that the watch will not break, but we have adopted this approach so that you can enjoy the watch's original performance and use it with confidence in the future, so we ask for your understanding.

When purchasing a product, we offer a 1-year warranty depending on the model. Even for products whose warranty period has expired, we offer repair services for a fee.
