Introducing the Seiko " 61 GRAND SEIKO SPECIAL " made in 1970 .
The " 61 Grand Seiko" was released in 1968 .
What is noteworthy is that the movement it is equipped with, Cal. 6145 , is the first 10- beat automatic high-beat model in the history of Japanese-made watches.
As the first domestically produced high-beat model, the requirements placed on the GS in terms of precision and durability were extremely high, and development proceeded using all of the technology and experience that Seiko had at the time.
As a result, stable operation is ensured, with little effect from posture differences or external disturbances.
Furthermore, in terms of precision, it has also passed Seiko's unique " GS Inspection Standards," which are said to be stricter than chronometer standards.
This is a movement worthy of being called a masterpiece, as it had a major influence on later developments.
Seiko's unique inspection standard, the " GS Standard"
The GS standards are said to be stricter than the official chronometer standards, and Grand Seiko watches that have passed the GS standards (hereinafter referred to as GS ) boast extremely superior precision.
The " 61GS Special" has a movement that has been specially adjusted to meet precision standards that are even stricter than the GS standards.
This model boasted top-class precision among domestic models at the time, and as the numbers produced were extremely small, it is an extremely rare GS .
Looking at the design, the letters " GS " and " SPECIAL " are specially placed at the 6 o'clock position on the dial.
The lettering is colored gold, emphasizing the exclusivity of " 61GS SPECIAL ".
The case adopts the Seiko style, characterized by large, distortion-free surfaces and sharp, glossy edges.
This is a case design that only Seiko, with its advanced cutting and polishing technology, can express.
Compared to the standard 61GS , the case diameter is slightly smaller, but the higher bezel makes for a sharper design.
Although small, it has an overwhelming presence thanks to its sharp luster and unique three-dimensionality.
At the time, Seiko poured their efforts into developing the 61GS Special as the pinnacle of Grand Seiko in terms of both precision and design.
This is a watch that allows you to enjoy the essence of Japanese "manufacturing."
The movement is equipped with Cal. 6155A , a 25- jewel automatic model.
Specially tuned, extremely precise movement.
Furthermore, its high beat specification provides high isochronism and ensures that accuracy is not compromised even in a variety of usage environments.
It is packed with high levels of precision, ease of maintenance, and practicality.
Other features include a hack function that stops the second hand and a date function.
The date can be fast-forwarded by operating the crown.
Size: height: 40.9mm , width: 37.7mm , thickness: 12.3mm , weight: 51g .
It has a simple design that is highly practical, but the sharp luster of the Seiko style gives it a strong presence when worn.
Of course, it goes well with suits and jackets, but it is also stylish, so it can be interesting to pair it with casual styles such as shirts and denim jackets.
The condition of the case is good with no noticeable scratches and the edges remaining firm.
The dial is in very good condition with no stains or wear.
The medallion on the back cover is in perfect condition.
The movement is working fine and the calendar function works fine.
