Introducing the 1972 Seiko "56 King Seiko Chronometer."

King Seiko is a luxury mechanical watch brand from Seiko, established in 1961.
It supported the development of Japanese watches alongside Grand Seiko, establishing its unique position with high precision and refined design.

The "56KS," which appeared in 1968, is a series equipped with a thin automatic movement, enhancing practicality and wearability.
Among these, this model features "CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on the dial, making it a high-end model that meets strict accuracy standards.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial is a silver dial with a radial finish.
The shading changes from bright silver to subdued gray depending on the angle at which it receives light, creating an elegant depth within a simple color scheme.

The three-dimensional bar indexes have a sharp design with black lines in the center.
The hour and minute hands have different shapes; the hour hand has a bold design with a wide base, while the minute hand has a slender design that extends straight towards the outer edge.
Combining different shapes enhances readability and adds subtle variations to the dial, which is an interesting detail.

The three-dimensional "SEIKO" logo is placed at the 12 o'clock position, with "CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" below it.
This inscription indicates that the model has met the strict accuracy standards set by the Japan Chronometer Inspection Association.
Along with the "KS" logo at the 6 o'clock position and the "HI-BEAT" inscription, it clearly communicates that this model is a superior specification compared to standard 56KS models.

The case design follows the "Seiko Style," which is based on straight lines and flat surfaces.
The prominent lugs are composed of multiple surfaces from the top to the side, tapering sharply towards the tip.

The entire case is polished to a mirror finish, and the sharp reflection of light on the refined edges resembles the blade of a Japanese sword.
The contrast between light and shadow on each surface sharply shifts depending on the viewing angle, creating a tense and three-dimensional form characteristic of King Seiko.

Another characteristic is its ability to present a refined appearance from the front and a sculptural expression from an angle, thanks to the thinly arranged bezel and the strong lines connecting the case to the lugs.
The crown also features the "KS" logo, unifying the King Seiko design down to the smallest detail.

Furthermore, it adopts a one-piece case structure without a case back, allowing the movement to be accessed from the crystal side.
The reverse side features a golden KS medallion engraved with "CHRONOMETER," expressing the special positioning of this model even in unseen parts.

■Movement

The movement is an automatic "Cal.5626" with 25 jewels.

It features a high-beat design that operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, achieving stable accuracy and smooth second-hand movement with 8 vibrations per second.
The chronometer specification involves adjustments to even stricter accuracy standards than regular 56 series movements.

In addition to automatic winding, it includes manual winding and hacking functions, and supports quick-set day and date.
Despite its slim design, it is a highly practical movement representative of Seiko at the time, balancing high precision with everyday usability.

■To ensure a confident purchase

All watches handled by our store are inspected internally by a specialized watch repair technician upon arrival and are sold only after being confirmed as genuine, so you can use them with peace of mind.

When you purchase a watch, we will attach a new leather strap from our store before delivery.

●Important information after purchasing an antique watch, please read carefully●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not deliver them immediately after receiving your order.
Instead, we request an overhaul (hereinafter "OH") from a specialized craftsman, and deliver the watch after the OH is completed. (This period is approximately 1-2 months.)

A specialized craftsman with a Grade 1 watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, clean, and lubricate it.
We perform a thorough OH and service the watch to an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per day.
Upon delivery, we will also send our unique OH certificate, which details the work performed during the OH, along with photos of the disassembled and serviced movement.

Of course, due to the nature of the product being used, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we take these measures so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch
and use it with peace of mind in the future. We appreciate your understanding.

When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided depending on the model. Even after the period has passed, repairs will be provided for a fee.
