Introducing the 1973 Seiko "Lord Matic."
In the late 1960s, Seiko developed the Lord Matic line for young businessmen, offering an automatic watch with the dignity suitable for professional attire and functionality for daily use.
The starting point for the Lord Matic was to value practicality over ostentatious luxury, while still meeting the aesthetic needs of the wearer.
■ Dial & Case Design
The silver dial features a sunray finish that catches the light, changing its appearance with the movement of your wrist.
The three-dimensional bar indices and neatly arranged minute markers create a refined impression, with a day-date display at the 3 o'clock position. It reflects the Lord Matic identity, which prioritizes the practicality of checking the time in daily life.
The case features a striking contrast between the rounded bezel and the angled, protruding lugs.
The fully polished surfaces catch the light, emphasizing the spread of the planes and the sharpness of the edges. The design echoes the "Seiko Style" lineage, drawing light expressions through the composition of lines and planes.
It comes with a genuine Lord Matic bracelet, allowing you to enjoy a seamless, integrated look from case to strap.
■ Movement
The Cal. 5606 equipped in this piece is a movement that supports both automatic and manual winding. It features 23 jewels as noted on the dial, with the balance operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It is also equipped with a hacking (seconds-stop) function, allowing you to set the time precisely by stopping the second hand when the crown is pulled out.
Equipped with a day-date mechanism that displays the date and day of the week, it supports bilingual switching for the day. It also features a quick-set mechanism for both the date and day. It is a movement that supports the Lord Matic's practicality by incorporating necessary daily functions with care.
■ Styling
Case dimensions: Height 41.1 mm (including lugs) / Width 37 mm (including crown) / Thickness 9.7 mm / Weight 67 g (including bracelet)
The combination of a silver dial and stainless steel case pairs well with a navy blazer, white shirt, or charcoal gray trousers. While the refined dial adds a sense of composure to your outfit, the fully polished case catches light whenever it peeks out from your sleeve, giving it a presence unique to a vintage watch, even while remaining understated.
On your days off, you can pair it with a knit polo or a simple shirt and denim for a more relaxed look.
The linear case design and day-date display act as a great anchor, making this a versatile piece that works well from dressy to casual settings.

● Important Information After Purchasing an Antique Watch ●
At RESUME, we do not ship antique watches immediately upon order. Instead, we commission a professional specialist to perform an overhaul (hereinafter "OH"), and the item will be shipped after the OH is complete. (Period: approx. 1 to 2 months)
A certified 1st-class watch repair technician will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, clean, and oil the movement, performing a thorough overhaul to ensure the daily accuracy is within approximately ±1 minute. Upon delivery, we will provide our original OH certificate, which details the work performed, along with photographs taken during the disassembly and maintenance process.
While these are pre-owned items and we cannot provide a guarantee that they will never break, we take these steps so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Depending on the model, we provide a 1-year warranty period upon purchase. Even after this period expires, we continue to offer repair services (for a fee). If you do not have a repair shop nearby, please feel free to consult with us.
