Introducing the 1974 Seiko "Lord Matic."

The "Lord Matic," launched in 1968, was an automatic watch series primarily developed in the 1970s, positioned as a mid-to-high-end Seiko model that combined practicality and design.

At that time, Seiko was not only advancing the development of high-end watches, exemplified by Grand Seiko and King Seiko, but also focusing on enhancing mechanical watches that were easy for daily use.
The Lord Matic series was a result of these efforts, incorporating the technology cultivated during that era into more accessible watches.

The main 56 series movement was a highly practical design, thin yet supporting both automatic and manual winding, and equipped with a hacking (stop-seconds) function and a calendar mechanism.
Many variations were developed, ranging from elegant styles to unique models featuring vibrant colored dials and cut glass.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial features a gradient finish, deepening in color from a vibrant green in the center to the outer edge.
The radial finish causes the shades to shift with incoming light, displaying various expressions from emerald green to deep dark green depending on the angle.

Gold-colored indices and hands are used.
The three-dimensional bar indices with black lines and the thick bar hands tighten the unique dial, creating a brilliant contrast with the green.

The crystal features cut glass, combining multiple facets.
Parts of the dial reflect light depending on the direction it enters, further enhancing the color and three-dimensionality of the green dial.

This particular piece has been replaced with a cut glass crystal that was preserved as deadstock from that era.

The case is made of stainless steel, characterized by straight surfaces and protruding lugs.
By enclosing the round dial in a squared case, it creates a powerful and modern silhouette, distinct from classic watches.

The wide, straight links connect naturally from the case, completing a strong 1970s style.

■Movement

It is equipped with the automatic movement "Cal.5606A" manufactured by Suwa Seikosha.

Designed with 23 jewels and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it supports both automatic winding and manual winding via the crown.
Equipped with a hacking (stop-seconds) function, it is a practical movement that is easy to operate when setting the time.

A calendar mechanism with day and date is located at the 3 o'clock position, and it supports quick-set operation via the crown.
The thinly designed movement also contributes to the clean case form characteristic of the Lord Matic.

The case size is 40.8mm long (including lugs) / 37.4mm wide (including crown) / 11.5mm thick / 85g weight (including strap).

The cut glass crystal has been replaced with a deadstock item from that era.

The automatic movement "Cal.5606A" is currently running well.
While the exterior shows some scratches due to age and use, the dial and replaced crystal remain in beautiful condition.

Additionally, when delivered, we will include our unique OH certificate, as well as photos of the watch's disassembly and maintenance process.

Of course, due to the nature of used products, there is no absolute guarantee that the product will never break, but we take this approach to ensure you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future. We appreciate your understanding.
