Introducing the 1976 Seiko "Lord Matic".

The Seiko "Lord Matic" was a series of automatic wristwatches developed by Seiko from the late 1960s to the 1970s.

At that time, Seiko not only focused on high-end watches like Grand Seiko and King Seiko but also on practical watches suitable for everyday use. Among them, the Lord Matic was known as a representative mid-range series, combining elegant design with an easy-to-use automatic movement.

The Lord Matic was developed as a practical watch featuring a thin automatic movement, and its easy-to-wear size and usability were also attractive features.

■ Dial and Case Design

The dial is silver with fine vertical hairline finishing.

It doesn't shine too brightly when reflecting light, giving it a somewhat rigid and understated impression.

The indexes are slender applied bar indexes. A black line in the center makes the time easy to read even on the silver dial and also serves as an accent to the overall design.

The hands are slender bar-type, just like the indexes. Unnecessary ornamentation is suppressed to match the dial's atmosphere, resulting in a clean look typical of a non-date specification.

On the 6 o'clock side, there is the "LM" logo and "LORD MATIC" inscription. Because of its simple non-date display, the arrangement of the logo and indexes is neatly organized, giving it a refined impression.

The case is a round stainless steel case. The sharp lines from the bezel to the lugs remain, giving a sleek impression despite the simple round case.

This watch is a testament to Seiko's meticulous craftsmanship in its dial finishing and case lines, without relying on flashy embellishments.

■ Styling

The case size is 41.6mm (including lugs) / 37.4mm (including crown) / 9.8mm thickness / 18mm lug width / 40g weight.

The combination of a silver dial and stainless steel case makes it a versatile watch that suits any outfit.

When paired with a shirt or jacket, the slender indexes and hands naturally blend in with the cuff, creating a refined impression. The clean, non-date dial is not overly assertive, making it a design that can be easily incorporated into formal attire.

For a casual look, it pairs well with simple outfits like white T-shirts, sweatshirts, and denim. The sharp feel of the stainless steel case adds a touch of sophistication to a relaxed style.

Although the design is understated, it is easy to wear naturally in daily life and can be matched with a wide range of outfits.

■ Condition

Regarding its condition, some age-related stains are visible on parts of the dial.

While not significantly detracting from its overall appearance, these are minor changes visible on the silver dial. These are natural signs of aging for a vintage watch and do not significantly compromise its overall aesthetic.

The case shows minor scratches from use, but no major damage. The lines of the bezel and lugs remain, and the overall condition is good.

The crystal also has no major scratches that would obstruct visibility, making it safe for practical use.

Despite its simple design, it shows subtle signs of aging, making it a watch that allows you to enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a 1970s Lord Matic.

● Important information after purchasing an antique watch, please read carefully ●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately after an order is placed. Instead, we request a complete overhaul (OH) by a professional craftsman, and deliver the watch after the OH is completed. (This takes approximately 1-2 months.)

The watch will be completely disassembled by a specialist with a Level 1 watch repair technician qualification. This includes thorough OH, replacement of consumable parts such as internal gaskets, cleaning, and oiling, to ensure an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per day.
Upon delivery, we will also provide our unique OH certificate, explaining the work performed during the OH, along with photos of the disassembled and serviced movement.

Of course, due to the nature of second-hand products, there is no guarantee that the product will never break down. However, we take these measures to ensure that you can enjoy the watch's original performance and use it with peace of mind in the future. We appreciate your understanding.

When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided depending on the model. Even for products whose warranty period has expired, we offer repair services, albeit for a fee.
If you do not have a repair shop nearby, please feel free to contact us.
