CITIZEN 40's CHRONOMETER CITIZEN
CITIZEN 40's CHRONOMETER CITIZEN
Introducing the Citizen "Chronometer Citizen" from the 1940s .
Named "Citizen" with the hope that the company would be loved by citizens, Citizen is a manufacturer that has consistently and passionately pursued technology since its predecessor, the Shokosha Watch Manufacturing Co., Ltd., was founded in 1892 to the present day.
The company has led the Japanese watch industry by developing a series of watches that proactively incorporate cutting-edge technology, such as the "Parashock," the first domestically made watch to feature an earthquake-resistant device, and the "Parawater," the first domestically made automatic, completely waterproof watch.
Its technical capabilities are recognized worldwide, and Citizen is now a brand trusted by citizens around the world.
The "Chronometer Citizen" we are introducing this time is an attractive watch with a heavy, solid appearance typical of a vintage watch.
The dial is originally white, but changes to a beautiful beige color over time.
The center is printed in silver at 3 o'clock and the 9 o'clock side is printed in silver.
The index uses gold-colored Arabic numerals.
Since it is an upright index, each number is attached to the dial by hand by a craftsman.
Additionally, the hands used are special, intricately decorated hands that are rarely seen these days.
The square case, full of vintage style, is designed to cover the attachment point of the band, eliminating the seams and creating a sense of unity between the watch body and the band.
The Chronometer Citizen was produced with great care and effort.
This watch makes you feel like you are appreciating a work of art.
The movement is a 15 jewel hand-wound model.
This is a highly accurate, chronometer-certified movement produced by the Swiss watch manufacturer Finita .
In addition, it is made with a particular focus on appearance, with a striped finish on the surface and a sunburst finish on the gears.
This is a movement that allows you to fully enjoy the skills of the watchmakers of the time.
Size: height: 34.6mm , width: 27.7mm , thickness: 10.3mm , weight: 25g .
Although it is made as a men's watch, its high design quality and small size make it suitable for women to wear as well.
The case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The dial has only discolored due to aging, but is not dirty or corroded.
Rather, it creates a vintage atmosphere and there is no problem with visibility.
The movement is currently working without any problems.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 2 to 3 months.)
A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.
When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will properly repair the product, but there will be a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
