Introducing the Seiko " 5 Actus" made in 1969 .

The 5 Actus is a model series launched in 1970 targeted at young people.
Despite being reasonably priced, they come in a wide variety of designs and feature various functions such as automatic winding, water resistance, and day-date functions.

The 5 Actus was a popular watch among young people because it was a watch that was aimed at new workers and young people at the time, with young people featured in advertisements to reflect changes in people's lifestyles.

The Seiko " 5 Actus" we are introducing this time is a watch that features a case design reminiscent of a UFO .
With a size of 40.1mm in height and 40.9mm in width, the case is large for a 1960s watch, giving it a strong presence when worn.

The case is curved to fit the shape of your wrist so that the sides do not hit the watch when you bend your wrist while wearing it, taking practicality into consideration as well as visual impact.
It is difficult to actually create a case with such a complex shape, but it is a design that could only be realized thanks to Seiko's advanced cutting technology.

The hands and indexes on the dial are bar indexes with dolphin hands and cut finishes.
The black dial with a sunburst finish accentuates the sharpness of the dial.

The 5 Actus has an attractive futuristic design that is rare for watches from the 1960s .
It is also highly practical, making it a recommended watch for those who want to wear a vintage watch casually.

The movement is a 21 jewel automatic, Cal. 7019A .

This automatic movement was widely used by Seiko at the time.

It has stable operation and a simple structure, making it easy to maintain.
The date and day of the week can be changed by operating the crown.
It is a movement that is easy to use as it is also highly durable.

Size: height: 40.1mm , width: 40.9mm , thickness: 12.3mm , weight: 92g .

Although it is a large size for the 1960s , as mentioned above, thanks to the distinctive case lines, it fits perfectly when worn.

The casual design makes it easy to combine with shirt styles as well as tech items such as sweatshirts and nylon materials.

The condition is good, with some small scratches on the case from use, but the edges remain firmly in place.
There are some scuff marks on the back cover, but this does not affect use.
There is some whiteout on the dial, but it does not affect visibility.
The movement is running smoothly and the calendar functions are working without any issues.

It is equipped with a genuine Seiko metal bracelet.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.
