Introducing the Citizen "Super Deluxe," produced in 1960.

In 1958, Citizen launched the "Deluxe" as a full-fledged thin-profile wristwatch.
Combining a refined design with excellent practicality, the Deluxe achieved great success and grew into a series that represented the Citizen brand at the time.

The "Super Deluxe" was born in December of the same year as a higher-end model.

With its movement jewel count increased to 23 or 25, and featuring superior accuracy adjustment and a more beautiful finish than the standard Deluxe, it was one of the finest timepieces Citizen offered at the time.
It was not merely a luxury watch designed for flair, but was also characterized by its enhanced quality in both precision and durability.

The late 1950s was a period when the quality of domestic Japanese watches improved rapidly, beginning to rival overseas products.
The Super Deluxe is an early masterpiece from Citizen that established the lineage of high-precision watches leading to the later "Citizen Chronometer."

■ Dial & Case Design

The watch features a silver dial with a subtle, polished luster.
Refined to an elegant dress-watch style typical of the early 1960s, it combines three-dimensional bar indices with sharp dauphine hands in an understated, sophisticated face.

The upper portion of the dial displays the "Citizen Super Deluxe" logo in a three-dimensional, applied script.
Below it is "25 JEWELS," and at the 6 o'clock position, the markings "PARASHOCK" (the shock-absorption mechanism) and "PHYNOX" (a highly durable mainspring material) highlight the advanced technology Citizen boasted at the time.

While many Super Deluxe models were gold-plated, this case is crafted from stainless steel, providing a crisp, clean aesthetic.
The slender bezel makes the dial appear larger, while the straight-extending lugs provide the case with a sharp, defined silhouette.

The soft shadows created by the dome-shaped crystal and the dimensional indices are a charm unique to vintage timepieces.
It is a design befitting the Super Deluxe, expressing luxury through the texture of the materials and well-balanced proportions, rather than through ornate decoration.

■ Movement

The watch is powered by the manual-wind Citizen "Cal.9200" caliber.
Operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour with 25 jewels, this was the movement used in Citizen’s premium models at the time.

The movement plates are finished in gold, engraved with "CITIZEN SUPER DELUXE," "25 JEWELS," and "SPECIALLY ADJUSTED," indicating that it received the exceptional precision tuning reserved for high-end models based on the Cal.9200.

Additionally, it utilizes the proprietary "Parashock" shock-protection system for the balance wheel and durable "Phynox" mainspring material, pursuing not only high precision but also the reliability required of a daily-use wristwatch.

The Cal.9200 reflects the commitment to quality of a premium model, extending beyond its appearance to its internal finish and precision adjustment. It is a movement that conveys the high level of technical prowess achieved by Citizen in the early 1960s.

All watches handled by our shop undergo an internal inspection by a professional watch technician upon arrival, ensuring their authenticity before they are listed for sale.

With every watch purchase, we include a brand-new leather strap.

*For products that come with a genuine watch strap or metal bracelet, the new leather strap will be provided separately as a spare.
A dedicated watch case will also be included with your shipment.

● Important Information Regarding Antique Watch Purchases ●

At RESUME, we do not ship antique watches immediately upon order. Instead, we commission a professional artisan to perform an overhaul (OH) to ensure the watch is in top condition before delivery (this takes approximately 1–2 months).

A certified first-class watch repair technician will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, clean and lubricate the components, and perform thorough maintenance to ensure accuracy within ±1 minute per day.
Upon delivery, we will include our store's unique overhaul certificate, along with photos taken during the disassembly and maintenance process, to show the work performed.

While these are pre-owned items and we cannot provide an absolute guarantee against future malfunctions, we follow this process to allow you to enjoy the original performance of the timepiece and ensure it can be used with peace of mind.

We offer a one-year warranty period for our watches (varies by model). We are happy to continue providing repair services even after the warranty period has expired (subject to fees). If you do not have a repair shop nearby, please feel free to consult with us.
