Introducing the 1965 Citizen "Super Deluxe".

The "Super Deluxe," which appeared in 1958, was the highest-grade hand-wound watch, incorporating all the technology Citizen had cultivated at the time.

It was born as a higher-end model of the highly successful thin hand-wound "Deluxe" and was designed with a greater sense of luxury, not only in terms of accuracy but also in the finishing of the movement and the texture of the exterior.

Starting with the early 23-jewel specification, it eventually evolved into a 25-jewel specification.
The 1965 model introduced here is the so-called "Three-Star Specification," with three stars placed on the dial and case back.

This model conveys Citizen's pursuit of accuracy and dignity as a luxury watch during the 1960s, a period of significant technological advancement in Japanese watches.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial features a calm gunmetal-toned finish with a radial pattern.

The shading changes significantly depending on the angle of light, creating a profound appearance.

The indexes are thick, gold-colored applied bar indexes.
The surface is cut, and the shadows created when light hits them add depth and a brilliant accent to the dial.

Two wide indexes are placed at the 12 o'clock position, subtly asserting their presence within the refined dial composition.

The hands are sharp dauphine hands with a ridge down the center.
Combined with the three-dimensional indexes, they create a refined look befitting a high-end watch.

At the top of the dial, "Citizen Super Deluxe" and "25 jewels" are inscribed in cursive.
Below, along with "PARASHOCK" and "PHYNOX," are three stars, symbolizing the three-star specification.

The case is an elegant gold-colored round case with 14K gold filling.

While the thin bezel makes the dial appear larger, the straight lines on the lugs add a sharp impression to the rounded case.

The gently bulging crystal and thin case profile combine to create an elegant appearance typical of a 1960s luxury watch.

■Movement

The movement is a 25-jewel manual-winding movement.

The Super Deluxe uses a high-grade 9200 series movement, which received more attention for accuracy adjustment and finishing than the regular Deluxe.

In addition to the "Parashock" anti-shock device, it employs "Phynox" hairsprings made of a special alloy resistant to temperature changes. The design considers not only accuracy but also daily stability and durability.

Furthermore, the gold-finished plates and bridges are intricately decorated, allowing one to appreciate the high-quality craftsmanship of the Super Deluxe even from the inside of the mechanism.

This movement conveys the accuracy and beauty that Citizen pursued in its time.

■Styling

Case size: 43.6mm (L, incl. lugs) / 38.9mm (W, incl. crown) / 8.8mm (T) / 42g (weight, incl. strap)

This piece, with its 14K gold-filled case and understated gunmetal-toned dial, pairs well with classic attire.

When paired with neat styles like jackets or shirts, the gold-colored case adds an elegant brilliance to the wrist, enhancing the luxurious feel of the Super Deluxe.

On the other hand, when combined with soft-colored items such as brown or beige knitwear or cardigans, the profound dial becomes a subtle accent, allowing you to enjoy a calm vintage style.

Its compact and thin case fits easily under cuffs, making it a piece that adds a touch of elegance to any outfit.

■Condition

The dial shows some partial aging due to time.

While this is a characteristic change of a vintage watch, it does not hinder the readability of the indexes or hands, and there is no problem with time legibility.

The 14K gold-filled case shows minor scratches from use, but there are no noticeable dings or peeling of the gold plating, maintaining good condition considering its age.

Overall, while retaining the vintage charm, it is in a condition that allows full enjoyment of the elegant appearance typical of a Super Deluxe.

●Important information regarding antique watch purchases, please confirm the details●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately upon order. Instead,
we entrust them to a specialized craftsman for an overhaul (hereinafter OH), and deliver them after the OH is completed. (This takes approximately 1-2 months.)

A specialized craftsman with a Class 1 watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, clean, and lubricate it.
A thorough OH will be performed, and the watch will be adjusted to an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per day.
When delivered, we will also send our unique OH certificate, which explains the work performed during the OH, along with photos of the disassembled and serviced movement.

Of course, due to the nature of the product being used, there is no guarantee that it will never break. However, to ensure that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch
and use it with peace of mind in the future, we take these measures. Thank you for your understanding.
