Introducing IWC "Schaffhausen" from the 1950s .

In 1868 , American watchmaker Florence A. Jones founded IWC with the aim of creating more refined watches by combining American manufacturing techniques for mass-producing parts using machines with traditional Swiss craftsmanship.

Combining American technology with Swiss craftsmanship, IWC has grown into a major watch manufacturer, producing a number of famous models, including the company's signature movement, the Pellaton automatic winding.

The philosophy that was established at the time of the company's founding is still carried on to this day, and the company continues to produce watches that combine technology and advanced technology.

The "Schaffhausen" we are introducing this time is a very rare watch equipped with the Cal. 89 , which is highly regarded as one of IWC 's finest hand-wound movements.

The simple white dial has aged to a pale beige color over more than 70 years.
It has evolved into a more refined look that is characteristic of a vintage watch.

The indexes are Arabic numerals with jumping Arabic numerals only on the even numbers.
And wedge indexes are placed between the numbers.

The comical font of the Arabic numerals and the sharp wedge indexes create a good balance, resulting in a simple yet unique design.

What's even more noteworthy is that the crown is marked with the " IWC " mark, a feature only seen on early IWC models .
This crown is found only on early models, making it extremely rare.

Because of its simplicity, even a slight difference in the design or placement of just one index or logo can instantly throw off the balance.
"Schaffhausen" was completed through meticulous calculations.

The movement is hand-wound and equipped with Cal.89 .

Cal. 89 was developed based on Cal. 83 , which had been IWC 's mainstay since the 1930s .

Due to its high operational stability and precision, it has also been installed in the company's pilot watch, the Mark 11 .

This is a famous movement that supported IWC from 1946 until the 1970s .

Size: Height: 42.2mm , Width: 37mm , Thickness: 10.6mm , Weight: 40g .

The simple design can be used in a variety of situations, from business to casual.
The impression can change dramatically just by changing the belt, so you can match a single belt with a wide range of outfits, such as using a leather belt with a suit or jacket, and switching to a nylon bend belt when pairing with a shirt or high-tech wear.

Condition: The case has some small scratches.
The dial has changed due to aging, but this does not affect visibility.
The movement is in good condition with no rust.
It is operating smoothly.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
