Introducing the IWC Yacht Club Cal.854B in the 1970s .

The International Watch Company ( IWC ) was founded in Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland in 1868 by American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones.
Aiming to create a watch that combines Swiss superior manufacturing technology and modern American engineering, it features a lean and sophisticated design that emphasizes daily usability.

As the name suggests, the Yacht Club is a sports watch made for yachts.
A case with a double shockproof structure, robustness, and waterproofness.
It is packed with the latest technology at the time, such as being equipped with IWC's own movement, the Pellaton automatic winding.

The "yacht club" introduced this time is a rare non-date model among many with a calendar function.
In addition, the dial is not black, but the navy dial and two points are unusual.
The dial has a characteristic discoloration based on navy that makes you feel the deep sea.

The sunburned part shines brightly in purple due to the reflection of light, and when you look at it together with the navy part, it looks as if the light shining in the sea reflects and shines. It makes you imagine such a beautiful scene.

The natural stone onyx is used for the bar indexes and pencil needles. The IWC logo in the old font is also astringent.
It goes very well with the distinctive atmosphere of the dial, giving a calm and mature impression.

The case was designed by Mr. Gerald Genta, who was touted as a genius watch designer.
While the streamlines create a beautiful appearance, it is made of machined iron, and the lugs that connect the belt are integrated, so it is robust.
The crown has a so-called "fish crown", which is proof that this watch is a waterproof model.

The equipped movement is equipped with " Cal.854B " with a hack function.
It is called the "Pellaton automatic winding" that represents IWC , and the main spring is wound with two claws called a ratchet type.
Compared to other self-winding types, the mainspring can be wound more efficiently even with a smaller winding angle.

In addition, the base plate of the machine is decorated with “perlage,” one of the decorative techniques.

Good machine condition.
There are no noticeable scratches on the case, and the edges are solid.
I think that the discoloration of the dial may differ depending on your taste, but this dial, which can only be expressed by aging, is truly a unique watch.

The case size is 39mm wide and 13mm thick, making it easy to wear.
Although it is positioned as a sports watch, it is also useful in formal situations such as suits and shirt styles.
