Introducing Jaeger-LeCoultre's "Memovox" in the 1950s .

Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 1833 when Antoine LeCoultre opened a watch workshop in Switzerland.

At the time, LeCoultre was an engineer who designed the machine tools needed to make watches, rather than making watches.

Later, in the 1930s , he became serious about developing products for his own brand, and by leveraging his experience indirectly involved in watch manufacturing, he created watches with original ideas that would have been unimaginable to a true watchmaker. We will announce one after another.

The company is a watch manufacturer with many glorious stories, including the jeweled watch equipped with the world's smallest movement that shone on Queen Elizabeth II 's wrist during her coronation.

The "Memobox" we are introducing this time is an early model of a hand-wound movement.

The dial, which was originally white, has changed to a beautiful beige gradation due to aging.
The wonderful discoloration that can only be found in vintage pieces is attractive.

The hands used are losanges, which means "diamond" in French.
It has a classic appearance and is characterized by a deep blue color that has been hardened to increase the hardness of the needle.
Vintage-specific details match the Memovox atmosphere.

If you look at the case, there are two crowns at the 2 o'clock position and 4 o'clock position, the alarm is set at the 2 o'clock position and the time is set at the 4 o'clock position.
This double crown design is a distinctive design that has been inherited by successive Memovox models.

This is a bottle that allows you to fully enjoy the historic Jaeger-LeCoultre.

The movement is a hand-wound model, equipped with Cal.P489 .

This movement has a beautiful structure, with the characteristic bridge shape unique to alarm clocks, a screw balance, and the company name engraved in gold letters.
It has an alarm function, so when the specified time comes, it will notify you of the time with a unique sound.

Size: Height: 41mm , Width: 34.9mm , Thickness: 9.6mm , Weight: 33g .

Because it has an alarm function, it is a bit large for a 1950s watch, but the thickness is kept to a minimum so it fits comfortably on your wrist.
Although it has a classic design, it has a casual feel due to aging, so it goes well with casual styles such as denim shirts, flannel shirts, and BD shirts.

In terms of condition, the case has no noticeable scratches and the edges are firm.
The dial has some distinctive discoloration due to aging, but there is no corrosion and there is no problem with visibility.
There is some peeling of the luminous paint on part of the hour hand, but this does not affect its use.
The movement is in good condition and working without problems, and the alarm function is also working.
