LONGINES 70's / ULTRA-CHRON

The "Ultrachron" was announced in 1967 as the culmination of Longines' long-cultivated high-beat technology.

Its name is derived from "Ultra Chronometer" and it achieved a very high vibration frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, which was unprecedented at the time.
This model pursued superior accuracy by ticking more finely than typical mechanical watches.

Longines had been working on high-beat timekeeping devices since the 1910s and developed a high-beat movement for wristwatches in 1959.
It quickly led this field, setting accuracy records as an observatory chronometer.

The Ultrachron demonstrated the renewed potential of mechanical watches at a time when electronic watches began to emerge.
At the time of its announcement, it boasted an accuracy of 1 minute per month, or approximately 2 seconds per day, and was developed as a series symbolizing Longines' technological prowess.

The lightning bolt symbol on the dial and case back also indicates that it is a special model equipped with a high-beat movement.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial is a silver sunray dial that shows soft gradations of shade depending on the angle of light.

■To purchase with peace of mind

All watches handled by our shop are inspected internally by a professional watch repair technician upon arrival to confirm authenticity before being sold, so you can use them with confidence.

When purchasing a watch, we will provide a new leather strap.
Please select your desired color from the order selection tab.
*For watches with original straps or metal bands, the leather strap will not be attached but sent separately as a spare.
A dedicated watch case will also be sent with the shipment.

●Important information after purchasing antique watches, please confirm the details●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not deliver them immediately after an order is placed.
Instead, we request a complete overhaul (OH) from a specialized craftsman and deliver the watch after the OH is completed. (This usually takes about 1-2 months).

A specialized craftsman with a Grade 1 watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, clean, lubricate, and perform a thorough OH.
The watch will be serviced to achieve an accuracy of about ±1 minute per day.
Upon delivery, we will also send our unique OH certificate, along with photos of the watch's disassembly and servicing, to explain the work performed.

Of course, due to the nature of used products, there is no guarantee that the product itself will never break, but we take these measures to ensure that you can enjoy the watch's original performance and use it with confidence in the future. We appreciate your understanding.

When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided depending on the model. Even for products whose warranty period has expired, we offer repair services for a fee.
