Minerva 40's Minerva
Minerva 40's Minerva
Introducing Minerva in the 1940s .
Minerva was founded in Villeret, Switzerland in 1856 .
Initially, we will subcontract the development of movements to other companies, and then utilize our experience to develop movements in-house.
The company has developed chronographs and stopwatches, and has received high praise for its high precision, practicality, and careful manufacturing, which have been adopted by the German Air Force, the French Air Force, and others.
Furthermore, it was used as the official watch for the 4th Winter Olympics held in Germany in 1936 .
At a time when TV stations used stopwatches, NHK also used Minerva's stopwatches.
As one of the few watch manufacturers that develops its own movements, it is also highly popular among watch enthusiasts.
The "Minerva" we are introducing this time is a three-hand hand-wound model with a simple face design.
The dial features Arabic numerals, pencil hands, minute markers engraved to the seconds, and specifications often used in military watches.
Due to aging, the dial changes from white to pale beige, giving it a soft, vintage watch face.
In addition, the distinctive case design, which uses gentle curves rather than angular edges, has a great influence on the distinctive impression of this watch.
Minerva has an interesting face that combines military specifications with a contradictory and gentle expression.
The movement uses a manual winding type with 17 jewels.
While ensuring a high level of practicality with stable operation and a new shock-resistant device, each part has been carefully chamfered and polished to give it a beautiful appearance.
This movement allows you to feel Minerva's craftsmanship.
Size: Height: 38.6mm , Width: 33.8mm , Thickness: 9.8mm , Weight: 26g .
It's small, thin, and lightweight, so you won't get tired even if you wear it for a long time.
The casual face design goes well with shirts and jackets, as well as leather jackets and coat styles.
It would also be interesting to replace the belt with a nylon material and pair it with sweats.
In terms of condition, there are some small scratches on the case back and crown, but other than that there are no noticeable scratches.
The dial shows signs of aging, but there is no corrosion and it remains in beautiful vintage condition.
The movement is in perfect working order with no rust.
