OMEGA 60's Constellation / Cal.551
OMEGA 60's Constellation / Cal.551
Introducing the Omega Constellation from the 1960s .
Constellation means "constellation" in English.
As the name suggests, the back of the watch is inlaid with a star symbol and a medallion reminiscent of an observatory and constellations.
The reason why it was chosen as an observatory is that competitions to judge the accuracy of watches were held at observatories, and observatories were positioned as a symbol of high precision.
In 1983 , Omega (Constellation) was so successful that it accounted for 45 % of all chronometer certificates issued.
This is one of Omega's most iconic watches.
The OMEGA Constellation is a watch with a simple and sophisticated beauty.
The dial is based on a white dial with upright bar indexes and dolphin hands for excellent visibility.
The index is made of black onyx, a high-quality stone.
The black gives it a dignified look, while the refined luster of the onyx enhances the Constellation's sophistication and dignity.
Beneath the three-dimensional Omega mark at the 12 o'clock position is the word "Chronometer," a testament to the watch's high level of precision.
And at the 6 o'clock position, the star mark, the symbol of Constellation, shines brilliantly.
The first thing you feel when you see Constellation is one word: beautiful.
Its beauty now exudes dignity.
The movement is a 24- jewel automatic, Cal.551 .
As it is Omega's flagship model, its performance is guaranteed.
In terms of precision, it is a chronometer, so it boasts extremely high accuracy.
The appearance of the machine is also red gold plated, and even the two- stage chamfered rotor and screws are polished.
This is a movement that has been carefully crafted not only for its functionality but also for its appearance.
Size: height: 43.3mm , width: 36.2mm , thickness: 10.8mm , weight: 38g .
Although a little small, the Constellation has a strong presence when worn.
With its simple and elegant design, this watch goes well with slightly formal clothing such as suits, jackets, and coats.
The case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches or dents.
The dial is in beautiful condition with no corrosion or wear.
The movement runs smoothly and there are no issues with use.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)
A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.
