OMEGA 60's Seamaster Cal.552
OMEGA 60's Seamaster Cal.552
Introducing the 1960s Omega Seamaster.
Water and dust resistance has always been a major challenge in the development of wristwatches.
In order to overcome this, Omega began developing a wristwatch with its own waterproof function.
First of all, the case is a round, waterproof case with a screw-in case back, developed during the war.
Secondly, since it is best to minimize the chances of pulling out the crown, which is susceptible to water and dust, automatic movements are generally used that do not require the crown to be operated.
By incorporating all of the above elements, the Seamaster, synonymous with waterproof automatic watches, was born in 1948 .
Since then, the Seamaster's waterproof function has been improved, and even now, more than 70 years later, its popularity has remained undiminished and it continues to exist as one of Omega's most representative models.
The gold-plated round case and silver-based dial have a simple structure with no decoration other than the logo that identifies it as a Seamaster.
Originally, it is a watch with a strong casual element, but by changing the case material to gold instead of stainless steel, it has an elegance and elegance, and at first glance, it has the atmosphere of a dress watch.
In the photo, the watch is wearing a leather strap, giving it a more dressy look, but if you replace the strap with a nylon band, it won't look out of place and will strengthen the element of a casual watch, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of styles.
This is a truly miraculous watch that is able to have such a rich expression because of the versatility of the case design and the fact that it is a vintage watch whose gold color has aged and turned into a pale color.
The movement is equipped with Cal.552 , an automatic model with 24 jewels.
Cal.551 is a chronometer-standard movement that is installed in high-end machines, but the only difference between it and Cal.552 is whether or not it is chronometer-rated.
Therefore, the basic performance installed in this movement is almost the same, and it is a movement that has been completed at a high level in terms of accuracy, ease of maintenance, and practicality.
Size: Height: 42.2nn , Width: 35.9nn , Thickness: 10.2mm .
Although it is an automatic winding watch, its thickness is kept to a minimum.
The size is good, so it's a watch that anyone can wear easily.
There is some paint peeling off on the crown.
The edges of the case remain firm and the movement is in good condition.
The leather belt is an aftermarket product, but it is equipped with a genuine Omega buckle. The gold color matches the case, so it goes very well with the case.
A truly versatile Seamaster that can be used in both casual and dressy situations.
Of course, it is not only accurate, but also has performance that can withstand everyday use.
With its gorgeous colors, you won't need any other accessories just by wearing this watch.
This is a very complete piece, both as a watch and as an accessory.
