OMEGA 70's Seamaster Cal.1020
OMEGA 70's Seamaster Cal.1020
Introducing the Omega Seamaster from the 1970s .
In 1894 , the Louis Brandt brothers company, the predecessor of Omega, succeeded in developing a revolutionary movement.
Until then, watchmaking involved parts with different specifications that had to be adjusted one by one, and adjusting the timekeeping accuracy required considerable skill and time.
This made highly accurate watches very expensive.
The Brand brothers then developed a movement that would standardize parts to make them interchangeable and enable streamlined production. This allowed them to shorten development time and keep prices low while still achieving incredible accuracy for the time.
The Brand brothers named this movement "Ω," the last letter of the Greek alphabet, to convey the meaning of "ultimate," and also changed the name of their company to the current "Omega Watch Company."
The Omega Seamaster has a round stainless steel case and a black face.
Compared to the Seamaster from the 1960s, it features a simpler, cleaner design.
The black dial on the face is matte black.
The reflective shine is suppressed, making the dial clearer and improving visibility. The emphasis on "black" also accentuates the strength of the watch.
The indexes and hands are upright bar indexes with bar hands.
The dial is equipped with a day-date function at the 3 o'clock position.
The Seamaster is designed to be completely free of unnecessary decoration and to emphasize practicality.
This is an attractive watch with a sophisticated form that will never feel boring due to its simple design.
The movement is equipped with 17 jewels, automatic winding Cal.1020 .
It has almost the same functionality as the movements currently used in Omega watches, making it durable and easy to maintain.
The day-date function allows you to change the date by pulling the crown out one notch, and the day of the week can be changed by pulling the crown out two notches and turning it counterclockwise when adjusting the time.
This is a movement that is easy to use on an everyday basis.
Size: height: 41.2mm , width: 37mm , thickness: 10.8mm , weight: 40g .
In addition to its simple design, the Seamaster with a black face can be worn in a wide range of situations, from business to casual.
It can be coordinated with a wide range of items, and since it is not too thick, it goes well with denim items and leather jackets as well as shirts and jackets.
Condition: The case has no noticeable scratches.
The dial is in good condition with no blemishes or stains.
The movement is running smoothly and the calendar function works without any problems, but the plate with the movement serial number is missing.
There are no problems with operation.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)
A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.
