This watch offers practicality with its day display and a unique design that reflects its era.

Orient's "Weekly Auto" is a series that appeared in the 1960s, when domestic automatic watches became widely popular.

As the model name suggests, a major feature is the day display.
At the time, a calendar function that could show both the date and day was an advanced feature that enhanced the practicality of wristwatches.

After that, it expanded to sports models, including the King Diver.
In the 1970s, models incorporating glass bezels, three-dimensional cases, and highly decorative dials also appeared, developing into a series that, while being a practical watch, possessed Orient's unique character.

■ Dial and Case Design

The silver dial with navy accents creates a design that exudes the individuality characteristic of the 1970s.

The dial is a bright silver with fine vertical hairline finishing.
A dark navy minute track is placed around the outer edge, adding a good contrast to the subdued colors.

The indexes are three-dimensional applied bar indexes with a black line in the center.
The thick, sculptural form creates depth on the dial and, along with the straight hands and cross lines, gives it a sharp impression.

The date is positioned at 3 o'clock, and the day display at 6 o'clock.
Furthermore, the three-star mark at 9 o'clock enhances the unique presence of the Weekly Auto.

The case is a voluminous tonneau shape that envelops the round dial.
The wide case surface and protruding lugs create a powerful silhouette, and together with the glass crystal, this watch offers the bold design typical of Orient at the time.

■ Movement

This automatic movement features a design focused on practicality, while also possessing the unique character of Orient from that era.

It is equipped with the 21-jewel automatic movement "Cal.1942."
It employs a mechanism that winds the mainspring by the rotation of the rotor, accumulating driving power through daily wear.

It features a date display at 3 o'clock and a day display at 6 o'clock, providing a practical configuration to check not only the time but also the calendar.

The practical configuration with both date and day displays reflects Orient's watchmaking philosophy at the time, which emphasized ease of daily use.

■ Styling

Case dimensions are 41.5mm vertical (including lugs) / 39.5mm horizontal (including crown) / 13mm thick / 66g weight (including strap)

The dial with navy accents shows a moderate presence in a subdued outfit.

When paired with neat styles such as black or navy jackets and shirts, the precise look of the silver dial blends naturally, giving the wrist a sharp appearance.

On the other hand, when combined with gray or ivory knitwear, or denim, the navy outer ring and voluminous case serve as a striking accent to the styling.

Despite its unique design typical of the 1970s, its subdued color scheme makes it easy to incorporate, adding a touch of vintage flair to simple outfits.

■ Condition

The entire case shows minor scratches from use.

Especially on the side of the case near the crown, several dents can be observed, but these do not hinder wear or operation.

Furthermore, there are no noticeable damages to the dial, hands, or crystal, and the movement is operating without issue, making it suitable for daily use.

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately after an order is placed.
Instead, we entrust them to a specialized craftsman for an overhaul (hereinafter OH), and deliver them after the OH is completed. (This takes approximately 1 to 2 months.)

The watch is completely disassembled by a specialized craftsman with a Grade 1 watch repair technician qualification. Thorough OH is performed, including replacement of worn parts such as internal gaskets, cleaning, and lubrication, and the watch is adjusted to a daily rate of approximately ±1 minute.
Upon delivery, we will also send our original OH certificate, along with photos of the movement disassembly and maintenance performed.

Of course, due to the nature of used products, there is no absolute guarantee that the product itself will never break. However, to allow you to enjoy the original performance of the watch and to ensure you can use it with peace of mind in the future, we take these measures. We appreciate your understanding.
