Introducing Rado "Ladies" from the 1960s.
Rado has its roots in a watch manufacturer founded in 1917 in Lengnau, Switzerland.
While initially starting as a movement manufacturer, the brand "RADO" was fully launched in the late 1950s, producing numerous watches that combined practicality and design.
In the 1960s, in addition to models focused on water resistance and durability, Rado began developing watches with unique case designs and dial motifs.
A characteristic of Rado at the time was its ability to produce designs that possessed decorative qualities and presence, going beyond mere practical timepieces.
■Dial and Case Design
The dial features a fine horizontal stripe pattern.
Regularly arranged lines of pale gold and white create a clear contrast in shades depending on how the light hits it.
Despite being a small ladies' watch, the entire dial has a rhythmic expression, conveying the unique design characteristic of Rado at the time.
The indices are applied bar indices placed at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
By limiting the number of indices on a fully patterned dial, a balance is achieved that retains decorative appeal without appearing too heavy.
The hands are slender, gold-colored bar hands.
They naturally blend with the dial's color, while the center of the hands has a three-dimensional quality, adding elegance to its compact size.
The case is a golden rectangular case.
By adding rounded, stepped decorations at the top and bottom, it becomes more than just a simple square case, achieving a design with a lateral expanse.
The crystal has a tall, three-dimensional shape, characterized by its upward-curving form that covers the dial.
The "PLAQUE G10" engraving can be seen on the side of the case, and "STEEL BACK" is inscribed on the case back.
Combining a straight rectangular case with a soft gold color and a decorative dial, this timepiece evokes the glamour of the 1960s.
■Styling
Case size: Length 26.9mm (including lugs) / Width 20.9mm (including crown) / Thickness 8mm / Lug width 16mm / Weight 19g
For formal wear, it pairs well with white or beige blouses, black dresses, and navy or brown jacket styles.
The overall gold color of the watch adds an elegant accent to your wrist when paired with a simple outfit.
For casual wear, it naturally blends with cream-colored knits or cardigans, light-toned shirts, and denim.
The classic feel of the rectangular case adds a soft, vintage impression to casual outfits.
It is easy to enjoy as an accessory, and can be incorporated not just as a watch, but as a small piece of jewelry adorning your wrist.
■Condition
Regarding the condition, there is slight signs of use on the side of the case near the crown.
Additionally, there is a small crack on the side of the crystal near the crown.
While not prominently visible from the front and not affecting use, it is a point we would like you to be aware of.
However, overall, there are few significant scratches or peeling of the plating, and it remains in good condition considering its age.
The golden case still retains its luster, ensuring that the elegant atmosphere unique to rectangular cases can be fully enjoyed.
The dial also shows no significant damage that would detract from its appearance, and the horizontal stripe pattern remains clear.
The movement is currently operating smoothly.
This is a timepiece that can be easily incorporated into any outfit.

●Important information regarding antique watch purchases, please confirm the contents●
At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately after an order is placed.
Instead, we request an overhaul (hereinafter referred to as OH) from a professional craftsman, and deliver the watch after the OH is complete. (This takes approximately 1-2 months.)
A professional craftsman with a Class 1 watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean, lubricate, and perform a thorough OH to bring the watch to a state with a daily deviation of approximately ±1 minute.
Additionally, upon delivery, we will include our unique OH certificate explaining the work performed during the OH, along with photographs taken during the disassembly and maintenance of the movement.
Of course, due to the nature of the product being used, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we take this approach to ensure you can enjoy the watch's original performance and use it with peace of mind in the future. We appreciate your understanding.
When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided depending on the model. Even after the warranty period has passed, repairs can be accommodated for a fee.
Please feel free to consult us even if there is no repair shop near you.
