Introducing the Rado Diamond Star from the 1970s .

The "Diamond Star", released in 1962 , was the world's first ultra-hard case model made of tungsten carbide.

Tungsten carbide is much harder than stainless steel and is highly scratch-resistant, meaning it is less likely to be scratched even by minor impacts.

With the processing technology at the time, it was difficult to reproduce sharp lines and edges, so it did not attract attention as a material for watches.
However, Rado noticed this and released the Diamond Star, which features a distinctive oval bezel made from this material.

In addition to using new materials, the world was amazed by its unprecedented, cutting-edge design, and Diamond Star quickly became a huge hit.
This model will go down in watch history.

The Rado Diamond Star we are introducing this time is the world's first model to feature a super-hard case made from tungsten carbide.
The fact that the carbide case remains scratch-free even after more than 50 years is testament to its excellent scratch resistance.

The case design is also distinctive, with its cute, round, egg-like shape that catches the eye.
The lugs cover the strap connection point, eliminating the seam between the watch and the strap and highlighting the beautiful oval shape.

It's such an impactful design that you'll never forget it once you see it.

Sapphire crystal glass is used for the windshield.
Sapphire crystal glass is not only highly transparent, but like the case, it is also a highly scratch-resistant material.

The glass is cut into nine facets, which reflects the light in a complex way, making it sparkle like a jewel.

"Diamond Star" has astonished the world with its functionality and design.
The brilliance that captivated the world at the time is still strong even now, more than 50 years later.

The movement is a 25- jewel automatic, Cal.1858 .

It is produced by the movement manufacturer Ashield and boasts stable operation.
This movement is easy to maintain and highly practical.

Size: height: 42.4mm , width: 36.1mm , thickness: 12.5mm , weight: 100g .

The cut glass reflects light beautifully like a diamond, so you can wear it like an accessory.

The condition is good with no noticeable scratches on the case.
The dial has changed due to aging, but this does not affect visibility.
The movement is working fine and the calendar function is also working fine.

The metal bracelet is an aftermarket part.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will still repair the product for a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
