Introducing Seiko's "Chronometer Seiko" from the 1940s .

Seiko was founded in 1877 when its founder, Kintaro Hattori, established the Hattori Watch Repair Shop. Initially, he sold and repaired used watches and worked as a repairman at other watch shops, striving to improve his skills. Four years later, in 1881, he founded the Hattori Watch Shop.

Initially, the company sold and repaired imported watches, but in 1892 , in order to utilize the technology it had cultivated up until then, it established a watch manufacturing division called "Seikosha."

Seiko began by manufacturing wall clocks and went on to successfully develop the first domestically produced pocket watches and wristwatches, building the foundations of Japan's watch industry.

Now, the company has earned the title of "Seiko of the World."

The "Chronometer Seiko" we are introducing this time is a watch with an attractive classical design.

The dial is a two-tone white and beige dial with bronze-colored Arabic numerals.
The circumference is surrounded by dots and wedge-shaped upright indexes.

The hands are alpha hands, which are commonly seen on dress watches, and the stylish dial composition is eye-catching.

The case is rectangular with impressive curved lines.
This is a very rare design, with cases of this level of craftsmanship rarely seen today.
There are traces of peeling plating in places, but this adds to the vintage feel.

This watch has a classic style and the elegance that is unique to vintage watches.

The movement is a hand-wound model.

This movement has details unique to the 1940s, such as the distinctive bridge shape and balance screw.

Size: height: 34.8mm , width: 27.5mm , thickness: 9.8mm , weight: 25g .

It is small and lightweight, so even women can wear it without any problems.
The classic design goes well with outfits such as jackets and party dresses.

As for the condition, there are some traces of peeling plating on the case, but it does not affect use.
The dial has no noticeable wear or dirt.
The movement is working without any problems.

Please be sure to read the following information after purchasing an antique watch.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 2 to 3 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±2 minutes.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will properly repair the product, but there will be a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
