SEIKO 59's Crown Cal.560
SEIKO 59's Crown Cal.560
Introducing the Seiko "Crown" made in 1959 .
At the time, when it was believed that thinner and smaller watches were better, Crown dared to make the movement larger.
If you look at the numbers, the difference is only a few millimeters, but when you actually see the finished product, the impression you get is very different.
Nevertheless, the decision to increase the size provided a great benefit in movement development, and this Crown was a watch that left behind an achievement that instantly raised the reputation of domestic watches to the world standard.
The crown had a great influence on later developments. It is one of the most iconic models among the many Seiko watches.
An eye-catching crown with a two-tone gold and white dial.
The gold index on the outer periphery is usually the upright type that stands out, but on this one, the time part is engraved.
The surrounding area is engraved with fine hair lines, creating a sharp contrast with the carved parts, giving a gorgeous impression while also improving visibility.
The center white part is also engraved with fine circle lines, which reflect the received light in a radial manner, enhancing the beauty of the dial.
Even now, more than 60 years later, the design still radiates the same brilliance as it did back then.
The movement is equipped with 21 jewels and hand-wound Cal.560 .
By making it larger than the conventional movement, everything from the enlargement of parts to the arrangement has been reconsidered and reconfigured.
Thanks to this, it provides great benefits such as accuracy and ease of maintenance, and is a movement that boasts a level of perfection that astonishes the world.
The size is 42.6mm long, 37.4mm wide, and 9.3mm thick.
The size is easy to wear, and the thickness is less than 1cm .
There are some small scratches on the case, but the edges are still intact. There is no noticeable peeling of the plating.
There are some changes in the dial due to aging, but there is no problem with visibility.
The movement is in good condition.
Since it is gold that has undergone aging, it blends very well into the skin when worn, and has just the right amount of luster.
It brightens up your wrist, so you can use it not only as a watch, but also as an accessory.
