SEIKO 60's 61 GRAND SEIKO Cal.6146A
SEIKO 60's 61 GRAND SEIKO Cal.6146A
Introducing the Seiko " 61 Grand Seiko" from the 1960s .
Since its introduction in the 1960s , Grand Seiko ( GS ) has always strived to create the best wristwatch.
This model is now recognized worldwide as the pinnacle of Japanese-made watches.
The " 61GS ", which was released in 1968 , was the first domestically produced automatic 10- beat model equipped with Cal. 6146 .
The high-beat model boasts a high vibration frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, which is impressive when compared to the low-beat model's 18,000 vibrations per hour.
Furthermore, it adopted Seiko's unique winding method, the "Magic Lever," and was released as the highest-end GS model at the time.
The " 61 Grand Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as "61GS" ) we are introducing this time is an early model that was only released for a few months in 1968 and is extremely rare.
The early model has the words " GRAND SEIKO " at the 6 o'clock position, but later models have this changed to " HI-BEAT 36000 ".
The case design is in the "Seiko design" style, which is dominated by flat surfaces and straight lines.
The sharp design with its sharp edges is the complete opposite of the solid and powerful form of previous GS models.
Cutting stainless steel requires extremely high levels of technical skill, and this is a design that only Seiko, with its highly advanced technology, could realize.
The indexes and hands are upright bar indexes with bar hands that have black in the center.
The dial is finished in an extremely simple style, improving visibility while also highlighting the stylishness of the case.
The 61 Grand Seiko has a beautiful, sharp shine that is reminiscent of a Japanese sword.
It is no exaggeration to say that this dignified beauty is the crystallization of Japanese aesthetic sense.
The movement used is the automatic winding Cal.6146A .
In addition to achieving high precision through its high beat specifications, this movement is also equipped with Seiko's unique winding mechanism, the Magic Lever, making it truly worthy of a high-class model.
It also features a hack function that stops the second hand and a function to fast-forward the date using the crown, making it a great choice for those who are new to vintage watches designed for everyday use.
Size: height: 42.2mm , width: 38.5mm , thickness: 12.4mm , weight: 81g .
The clean, futuristic case design matches formal attire such as suits and jackets, but also goes well with tech wear made from high-tech materials, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of coordination.
The condition is good with no noticeable scratches and the edges are well preserved.
The medallion on the back cover, which is prone to being lost, remains in beautiful condition.
The dial is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear and tear, retaining its original beauty.
The movement runs smoothly and all functions, including the calendar, work without any problems.
The metal bracelet attached is an aftermarket product.
