SEIKO 60's KING SEIKO
SEIKO 60's KING SEIKO
Introducing the Seiko "King Seiko" in the 1960s .
"King Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as KS ) was released by Daini Seikosha (Kameido Factory) in 1961 under the mission of "creating Japanese-made watches with precision comparable to Swiss-made watches."
While the "Grand Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as GS ) released by Suwa Seikosha the previous year was a model that aimed to be of the "highest quality" in all respects, the " KS " was designed to keep costs as low as possible except for areas that were necessary for accuracy. This differentiates it from the GS .
Therefore, when comparing the two , the `` KS '' may be seen as being inferior, but in terms of ``high-precision watches'' they are not inferior at all, and in fact, the movement installed in the `` KS '' The GS has been made more compact than the GS , while achieving the same level of accuracy.
``King Seiko'' is positioned as a top-of-the-line model along with Seiko's highest-end model ``Grand Seiko.''
It is one of the top models representing Japan.
The "King Seiko" we are introducing this time is the first model with a 14- karat gold plated case and a "shield medal" on the back cover.
The dial has a silver sunray finish and a simple design with gold-colored upright bar indexes.
A part of the center of the dial has changed from silver to beige due to aging.
This creates a two-tone dial with a gradation of silver and beige, and the sunray finish reflects the light radially, giving the dial a three-dimensional feel and enhancing its beauty.
This dial, born by chance in the flow of time, has transformed into a King Seiko with a truly unique expression.
The movement is equipped with a manual winding model with 25 jewels.
Although it has precision comparable to Grand Seiko, it is made with a diameter size about 2 mm smaller.
Therefore, it is a movement with excellent accuracy, maintainability, and durability.
Size: Height: 43mm , Width: 37.7mm , Thickness: 9.2mm , Weight: 38g .
The gold color case has changed to a lighter color over time, so it blends well with your skin and does not give off any of the unpleasantness that is typical of gold.
The elegant look goes well with jackets and shirt styles.
The case is in good condition with only minor scratches.
There is some discoloration on the dial due to aging, but this change makes it look more like a vintage watch.
The movement is working fine.
