SEIKO 61's Seikomatic Cal.603
SEIKO 61's Seikomatic Cal.603
Introducing the Seiko "Matic" made in 1961 .
The "Seikomatic" is a model produced between 1960 and 1967 as a thin, high-end automatic watch. Although it was equipped with an automatic winding mechanism, it was designed to be as thin as a hand-wound model.
What is particularly noteworthy about the Seikomatic is that it uses ultra-small ruby ball bearings as a new idea for its automatic winding mechanism.
The polished ruby balls have low friction and move smoothly, allowing the mainspring to be wound securely even with the slightest movement of the arm.
Based on the "Seikomatic" movement, it developed into the subsequent Matic series and Grand Seiko automatic winding models.
The Matic has a simple dial design and a gold round case.
This is an attractive watch with a brilliant beauty that is different from the flashiness of foreign watches.
The dial features a sunburst silver dial with upright bar indexes.
The hands are dolphin hands and have a highly practical design that is typical of Seiko, with excellent visibility.
At the 18 o'clock position, the " SD mark" that is found on high-end models is printed, so the index and hands are made of gold.
The simple design of the index allows the beautiful brilliance of the gold to be accentuated to the fullest.
The case is a round case with a distinctive symmetry, with the crown stored inside the body.
The material is 20 micron gold plated, and the different color from the gold of the index gives the entire watch a three-dimensional look and creates a deep expression.
The Seiko Matic is not only easy to use, but also offers the kind of refined beauty that is only possible with a Seiko watch from Japan, as it has been stripped down to the bare essentials for ultimate simplicity.
The movement is a 30 jewel automatic, Cal.603 .
Seiko's unique automatic winding mechanism, the Magic Lever, uses ultra-small ruby ball bearings, so even the slightest movement of your arm will ensure the mainspring is wound properly.
In addition, precision and durability have been improved at the same time, making this a highly practical movement.
Size: height: 43.2mm , width: 36.5mm , thickness: 10.7mm , weight: 38g .
It is thin and lightweight, so it does not interfere with the sleeves of a jacket, etc., making it extremely comfortable to wear.
The elegant gold color goes well with elegant styles such as suits, jackets, and shirts.
The gold has aged to a slightly lighter hue, so it feels very comfortable on the wrist and is easy to wear without any of the shiny feel that is typical of gold.
The case is in good condition with no wear or peeling plating.
The dial also retains its beautiful original condition.
The movement has some wear but is in good working order.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
