Introducing the Seiko "Sportmatic" made in 1962 .

Production of the "Sportmatic" began in 1963 and is the model that became the roots of the current Seiko 5 .

By revising the design of the movement and integrating the part that supports the parts, called the "receiving plate," they have succeeded in shortening assembly time and simplifying the structure compared to previous models.
By significantly increasing production volume and reducing production costs, we can achieve excellent cost performance.

Although it is a full-fledged automatic model equipped with Seiko's unique automatic winding mechanism "Magic Lever," it has become popular due to its high cost performance, and various models have been created with changing variations.

The Sportsmatic laid the foundation for domestic automatic watches.
This watch features a simple, uncluttered three- hand design that prioritizes visibility, and an adorable round case with the crown stored inside the case to emphasize symmetry.

The dial changes to a gradient beige color over time.
The color, which gives a sense of depth, adds richness to the overall look of the dial and highlights the unique character of vintage items.

At the 12 o'clock position, a spinning top mark is printed, indicating the automatic winding mechanism, which was the latest technology at the time, and conveys the advanced technology of the time to the present day.

The overall design of the watch is a highly refined Sportsmatic, reflecting the high level of technology and aesthetic sense that was packed into Japanese-made watches at the time.

The movement is equipped with Cal. 245 with 17 jewels.

The rotor's rotational efficiency is improved by hollowing out the inside and shifting the center of gravity to the outside.
Furthermore, the Magic Lever provides excellent winding efficiency, making this a movement with extremely stable operation.

This movement is easy to use, even for those purchasing a vintage watch for the first time.

Size: height: 42.2mm , width: 35.9mm , thickness: 11.2mm , weight: 39g .

It is a size that is very comfortable to wear, and although it has an automatic winding mechanism, it is thin and light, so you won't get tired even if you wear it for a long time.

Although it has a vintage feel, its simple design means it can be worn in a variety of situations and with a variety of outfits, making it a very versatile watch.

The condition is good, there are scratches on the back of the case, but no noticeable scratches on the surface.
The dial has changed over time due to aging, but legibility is not compromised.
The movement is working and there are no particular issues.

I am wearing Bambi Scotchguard, black.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand over the watch to you upon receiving your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul it (hereinafter referred to as OH) and deliver it to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will properly repair the product, but there will be a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
