Introducing the Seiko "Chronos Special" made in 1963 .
"Suwa Seikosha" and "Dai-ni Seikosha" (Kameido Factory) are both part of the Seiko Group, but each company developed its own watches and was in a rival relationship to improve its technical capabilities.
In 1958 , Suwa Seikosha released the "Chronos," a watch made at its Kameido factory, as a rival to the "Marvel" watch that the company released during the chaotic post-war period.
The Chronos, which actively incorporates modern designs from the movement to the case design, surpasses its rival model, the Marvel, which boasts high precision.
Furthermore, it boasts a level of perfection that rivals the performance of Seiko's most famous model, the Crown.
The Chronos led to the development of the later "King Seiko" and is one of the watches that demonstrates the capabilities of the Kameido factory.
The "Chronos Special" is a highly rare model that was only produced by Daini Seikosha for a short period of just one year.
The dial is a silver dial with a beautiful radial luster created by the sunray finish.
At the 6 o'clock position is printed the SD ( Special Dial ) mark, which was seen on high-end models of the time.
Due to the SD mark, the dolphin hands and upright bar indexes are all made of solid gold.
The case is luxuriously gold-plated, including the back cover.
Usually, even with other gold-plated case models, the back cover is often made of stainless steel, which shows how special this model is.
The engraving on the case back reads 80MICRONS , which is why very thick gold is used.
Chronos was created by Daini Seikosha, a company that put its reputation on the line.
The Chronos Special, a special edition of the Chronos, is a watch worthy of the name "Special" in every respect: the potential of the watch, the overwhelming presence, and the joy of owning it.
The movement is a hand-wound type with 23 jewels, Cal.810 .
It is based on the J14102E movement used in King Seiko watches, and is equipped with the same type of balance wheel oscillation correction device, making it a premium movement.
It boasts high precision and stable operation.
Size: height: 43.9mm , width: 38.8mm , thickness: 9.3mm , weight: 40g .
Although the size is a little large, it is comfortable to wear and has a thin profile, so you won't get tired even if you wear it for a long time.
Aged gold blends in well with the skin and doesn't have that gaudy feel that is typical of gold when worn.
When paired with a black coat or denim items, the gold can be seen peeking out from the sleeves, instantly giving the outfit a glamorous impression.
The condition is good, there are some small scratches on the case but no noticeable scratches.
The dial is in beautiful condition with no signs of wear or corrosion.
The movement is running smoothly and there are no particular issues.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
