Introducing the 1965 Seiko "Lord Marvel".

The Lord Marvel was introduced in 1958 as one of Seiko's flagship luxury models.
It was based on the "Marvel", released in 1956.
This watch, Seiko's first original design, ranked highly in domestic competitions and was awarded first place in the men's category at the Japanese Watchmakers' Association Watch Contest in 1957.

The Lord Marvel was introduced as a model that built upon the highly acclaimed Marvel, pursuing even higher quality and finishing.

Even after the first Grand Seiko was introduced in 1960, the Lord Marvel continued to be produced for many years with ongoing improvements.
In 1967, the "Lord Marvel 36000", which achieved 36,000 vibrations per hour, was also introduced.

This 1965 model is a Lord Marvel from the era when Seiko was refining the accuracy and quality of mechanical watches.

■Dial and Case Design

The silver-colored dial displays a subdued luster depending on the angle of the light, and its metallic texture is appealing.
The cursive "Seiko Lord Marvel" logo adds a classic touch, while the three-dimensional bar indices and dauphine hands give the clean dial a refined look.

The "DIASHOCK 23 JEWELS" inscription at 6 o'clock adds an accent that conveys the specifications of the era, complementing the dial's dignified appearance.

The case features a clean round form, combining a slim bezel with straight lugs.
The slim bezel makes the dial appear larger, while the outline of the lugs gives the entire case a refined look.
From the knurling on the crown to the finest details, this is a watch that exudes a calm elegance.

■Movement

The movement is equipped with a manual-winding Cal.5740A.
The "SEIKO", "23 JEWELS", and "5740A" engravings can be seen on the movement.
The extra step of winding the crown to store power in the mainspring is one of the unique charms of a manual-winding watch.
The orderly arrangement of the gears and jewels gives a clear sense of the presence of a mechanical watch.

■Styling

The case size is 41.6mm in height (including lugs) / 37.8mm in width (including crown) / 10.6mm in thickness / 40g in weight (including strap)

The subdued color combination of a silver dial and stainless steel case paired with a black leather strap blends well with jacket styles.
Paired with a white or sax blue shirt and a navy or gray jacket, the watch's dignified appearance stands out and subtly refines the wrist peeking from the cuff.

For a slightly more relaxed outfit, we also recommend pairing it with an Oxford shirt or a lightweight knit sweater and chinos.
Because of its understated design, it is easy to incorporate not only into dressy outfits but also into everyday casual styles.

■Condition

Color changes due to age can be seen around the dial, but the hands and indices remain clearly visible.
Although the case shows minor signs of use, there is no noticeable damage.
The movement also runs smoothly.

●Please be sure to read the following information after purchasing an antique watch●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not deliver them immediately upon your order.
Instead, we request a professional to perform an overhaul (hereinafter OH), and deliver the watch after the OH is completed. (The period is approximately 1–2 months.)

A professional craftsman with a first-class watch repair qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, and perform a thorough OH including cleaning and oiling,
adjusting the watch to a state of approximately ±1 minute per day.
We will also send our store's unique OH certificate, along with photos of the movement disassembled
and serviced, so you can see what work was performed during the OH.

Of course, due to the nature of the product being pre-owned, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we provide this level of service so that you can enjoy the watch's original performance
and use it with peace of mind in the future, so please understand.

At the time of purchase, we offer a 1-year warranty period depending on the model. Even for products past the warranty period, we will still provide repair services for a fee.
Even if you do not have a repair shop nearby, please feel free to contact us.
