Introducing the Seiko "Seiko Road Marvel" made in 1965 .

The Road Marvel was the first domestically produced wristwatch to be sold as a "luxury watch."

At the time of its release ( 1958 ), the average monthly salary for office workers was 16,608 yen, but the Lord Marvel's selling price was set at a high price of 12,800 yen, more than twice the price of domestically produced watches at the time. Masu.

At first, there were doubts as to whether it would be able to sell at such a high price, but in the end, sales exceeded Seiko's expectations.

Since then, the Road Marvel has undergone repeated model changes and has remained in production for approximately 20 years since the start of production, becoming a long-selling model.

It is a watch that continues to fascinate many watch fans even after more than 60 years with its beautiful and elegant appearance.

The noteworthy feature of the "Lord Marvel" introduced this time is the dial, which has undergone a unique aging process.

The disc, which was originally silver, now has a rich champagne gold color.
There is also a sunray finish that reflects light in a radial manner, and the champagne gold disc reflects the light in a magical and soft manner.

The indexes and hands are free of rust and are in beautiful condition at the time, but it is rare to find a case where the dial has aged to this extent.Although everyone has their own preferences regarding the degree of aging, this is a watch with a unique vintage presence. is.

The movement is hand-wound with 23 jewels, Cal.5740A .
It is the first Seiko movement to have a serial number engraved on it.

It is based on the movement of Seiko's famous "Crown" and has a simple structure, making it easy to maintain, durable, and highly accurate.

Size: Length: 41.8mm , Width: 37.8mm , Thickness: 9.6mm , Weight: 20g
The size is generally easy to wear.

Originally, the design went well with formal attire such as suits, but as the dial has aged, it has suddenly become more casual.

A leather belt is good, but replacing it with a belt made of a different material, such as a nylon belt, will go great with casual or sporty clothing such as shirts and sweatshirts.

Regarding the condition, the case has some small scratches, but the edges are still intact.
Although the dial has aged considerably, there is no problem with visibility and there is no rust on the indexes.
The movement has some dirt, but it is working fine.
There are some small scratches on the windshield, but we will replace it with a new one during overhaul after purchase.
