Introducing the Seiko " 44 King Seiko Chronometer" made in 1966 .

King Seiko ( KS ) was released in 1961 by Daini Seikosha (Kameido Factory) based on the philosophy of "making Japanese-made watches with precision that rivals Swiss-made watches."

While Grand Seiko ( GS ), which was launched the previous year, aimed to be the " best wristwatch, " the KS series focused on high precision while streamlining some of the design and specifications to achieve a more affordable price range.

For this reason, it is sometimes spoken of more modestly than the GS , but despite its small size, the movement has been highly praised for its precision, and it has been praised alongside the GS as a high-end model that represents Seiko.

■Dial and case design

This model is a chronometer specification ( Cal. 4420A / 27 jewels) among the " 44 King Seiko" models equipped with the early 44 series movement.
It was produced for only two years and is a rare example with a lion medallion on the case back.

The dial is a silver dial with a delicate sunray finish.
The sharp, lustrous radiating light creates a rich range of expressions depending on the viewing angle.

The indexes are beautifully beveled, three-dimensional bar indexes, and their carefully polished shine accentuates the vintage elegance.

The hands are wide dolphin hands, and even the minute scale on the outer periphery gives the watch good visibility and a cohesive look.

The case features sharp chamfers and edgy lugs, and its beautiful design evokes the high level of processing technology that Seiko was proud of at the time.
It has a classic yet contemporary sophisticated beauty.

The 44 King Seiko offers a perfect balance of functional and decorative beauty.
Among them, this is a watch that gives you a sense of specialness with the details unique to chronometer models and the lion medallion.

■ Movement

The movement is a 27 -jewel hand-wound movement, Cal. 4420A .
Cal. 4420A has been adjusted to chronometer specifications to improve accuracy.

As a high-end machine, it not only achieves high precision, but is also durable, easy to maintain, and designed with practicality in mind.

Even those who are handling vintage watches for the first time can use it with confidence.

■Styling

Dimensions: Height: 43.8mm , Width: 39.7mm , Thickness: 10.9mm , Weight: 46g .

Although it is a little large for a watch from the 1960s , it is thin and light, so it fits well when worn.
The simple yet powerful design can be worn in any situation, from formal to private.

It can be easily coordinated with suits, sweatshirts, T- shirts and other casual outfits.

■ Condition

The case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The lion medallion on the back cover is also in good condition with no chips or imperfections.
The dial is in excellent condition with no noticeable stains or marks.
The movement runs smoothly and the hacking function works without any issues.

Please be sure to read the following information after purchasing an antique watch.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand over the watch to you upon receiving your order. Instead, we have a professional overhaul (hereinafter referred to as OH) the watch, and then we deliver it to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1-2 months.)

Our specialized craftsmen, who are first-class watch repair technicians, will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.

When we deliver the machine to you, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which will show you what kind of overhaul work was done on the machine, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and serviced.

Of course, since the product itself is a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we have taken this approach so that you can enjoy the watch's inherent performance and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty has expired, we will still repair the product for a fee. If there is no repair shop nearby, please feel free to contact us.
