Here we have a 1967 Seiko "Lord Marvel 36000."
The Lord Marvel series, which predates the Grand Seiko, was developed as Seiko's high-end model and is an essential series when discussing domestic luxury watches.
Among them, the "36000" is an important model equipped with a high-beat movement that vibrates 36,000 times per hour.
This watch represents a technical milestone that paved the way for future Seiko high-frequency movements.
The "36000" inscription on the dial indicates the mechanical characteristics of this watch.
It is a model that reflects an era when Seiko pursued precision and technology.
■ Dial and Case Design
The dial is a beautiful silver dial with a sunray finish that creates radiating patterns of light.
Its appearance changes from bright silver to pale gray tones depending on the angle, giving a simple face an elegant depth.
The indices are applied bar indices with black lines.
Only the 12 o'clock position features a double bar, adding legibility and a subtle accent to the refined composition.
Fine minute markers are placed around the outer edge, ensuring readability as a practical timepiece.
The hands are sharp dauphine hands.
Like the indices, they have black lines, allowing for clear time reading against the silver dial.
The "LORD MARVEL 36000" inscription at 6 o'clock is also a crucial detail that conveys the unique mechanical characteristics of this model.
The case is a clean round case.
The narrow bezel allows for a large dial area, giving the overall impression a sleek, refined look.
The lugs extend straight in a sharp shape, and distinct edges are visible on the sides. Despite being a simple watch, it exudes a refined presence on the wrist, typical of a high-end Japanese model from the late 1960s.
■ Movement
The movement is a manual-winding Cal. 5740C.
This is a high-beat movement, vibrating 36,000 times per hour (10 beats per second), and is a hallmark of the Lord Marvel 36000.
Designed to achieve stable accuracy through its high oscillation rate, it demonstrates Seiko's commitment to improving the performance of domestic mechanical watches at the time.
Another appeal is the ease of handling unique to manual-winding watches.
Without an automatic winding mechanism, the overall case design is sleek, and the act of winding the mainspring daily adds to the enjoyment of a mechanical watch.
■ Styling
Case size: Length 41.7mm / Width 37.4mm / Thickness 10mm / Weight 45g
The combination of the sunray finished silver dial and the sleek round case pairs well with suits and jacket styles.
While the design is understated, the black-lined indices and dauphine hands add a refined touch to the wrist, naturally complementing formal attire.
It also pairs well with casual wear like shirts and sweaters, allowing you to enjoy the refined elegance of a domestic luxury watch in everyday life.
This watch is also recommended for those who want to subtly incorporate a vintage watch into their style.
■ Condition
The case has minor scratches from use, but no noticeable damage or deep scratches.
The dial maintains its original condition, and legibility is good.
The movement is running well, and there are no issues with its operation.

● Important Information Regarding Vintage Watch Purchases ●
At RESUME, when selling vintage watches, we do not deliver them immediately upon order.
Instead, we arrange for a professional craftsman to perform an overhaul (hereinafter "OH"), and delivery will be made after the OH is completed. (This typically takes about 1-2 months.)
A certified Level 1 watch repair technician will completely disassemble the watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean, and lubricate it.
We thoroughly perform OH and adjust the daily rate to within ±1 minute.
Additionally, upon delivery, we will include our unique OH certificate, detailing the work performed, along with photographs of the movement's disassembly and maintenance.
While it's true that, given the nature of used products, there's no absolute guarantee against breakdowns, we take these measures to ensure you can fully enjoy the watch's original performance and use it with peace of mind in the future. We kindly ask for your understanding.
When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided, depending on the model. Even after the period has passed, we offer repair services, albeit for a fee.
Please feel free to consult us even if you do not have a repair shop nearby.
