Introducing the Seiko " 61 Grand Seiko" made in 1968 .

The 61 Grand Seiko was released in 1968 by Suwa Seikosha as the second generation Grand Seiko automatic model.

What is noteworthy is that the movement it is equipped with, Cal. 6145 , is the first 10- beat automatic high-beat model in the history of Japanese-made watches.

As this was the first domestically produced high-beat model, the various requirements for a watch, such as precision and durability, were extremely high, and development proceeded using all of the technology and experience that Seiko had at the time.

As a result, it has better isochronism than previous movements and achieves more stable, high accuracy even when subjected to posture differences and external disturbances.
It has passed Seiko's own " GS inspection standard," which is said to be stricter than chronometer standards.

This is one of the famous watches that had a major influence on later Seiko movements.

The " 61 Grand Seiko" (hereinafter referred to as 61GS ) that we are introducing this time is an early model that was only released for a few months in 1968 .

The early models have the words " GRAND SEIKO " at the 6 o'clock position, but later models have this changed to " HI-BEAT 36000 ".

Furthermore, the case of this watch is not made of the usual stainless steel material, but rather is a high-end design that uses cap gold.
Compared to the stainless steel case, it has a more glamorous and elegant feel, and will brighten up your wrist when worn.

Furthermore, by combining it with the "Seiko style" adopted from the " 61GS ", it takes advantage of the luxury feel of the case while emphasizing its sharpness, creating a stylish impression.

In addition, the silver dial has a subtle luster that accentuates the shine of the gold of the case and indexes, a design that has been carefully considered down to the smallest detail.

The 61GS is truly the pinnacle of Japanese-made wristwatches and embodies the Japanese aesthetic sense.

The movement installed is the automatic winding movement Cal.6145A .

Its precision is guaranteed as it has cleared the extremely strict " GS inspection standards."
Because it is a high beat model, it is a high precision movement that reduces time deviation caused by posture differences.

Furthermore, practicality has been taken into consideration, with features such as a "hack function" that stops the second hand and the ability to adjust the date with the crown, making this a great watch designed for easy everyday use.

Size: height: 43.3mm , width: 38.5mm , thickness: 11.7mm , weight: 54g .

It fits very well on a Japanese man's average wrist size of 17cm .
The calm tone of the gold cap color does not have any of the gaudy feel that is typical of gold, and beautifully adorns the wrist when worn.

It can be used as an accent colour with dark coloured coats, jackets and suits, as well as denim and leather items.

The condition of the case is good with no gold wear or noticeable scratches.
The GS medallion on the back cover shows some damage, but there is no major damage such as peeling.
The dial shows signs of aging on the left side, but this does not affect visibility.
The movement runs smoothly and all functions, including the calendar, are in good condition and work without any problems.

The metal bracelet attached is an aftermarket product.
A GS case is included as an accessory.
