Introducing the 1968 Seiko "Seiko 5 Deluxe".

The Seiko 5 is an automatic watch series introduced in 1963.
Equipped with day and date display functions, it was widely released as a watch suitable for everyday use.
The following year, the "5 DX" was added, featuring higher specifications than the standard model.

In 1967, the 5 DX equipped with Cal.6106A was introduced.
While the standard model at the time had 21 jewels, this 5 DX featured 25 jewels.
It was a model released with higher specifications while inheriting the practicality of the Seiko 5.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial features an impressive design based on a deep blue color.
The outer edge is adorned with alternating blue and silver rectangular markers, with wide blue indices placed at five-minute intervals.
The contrast between blue and silver makes the time easy to read while adding a sporty look to the dial.

The hour and minute hands are bar hands with a blue line down the center to match the dial's color scheme.
The color echoes the indices on the outer edge, drawing the eye to the hands.
The "SEIKO" logo and shield-shaped "5" mark are placed at the 12 o'clock position, while "DX 25 JEWELS" is placed at the 6 o'clock position.
The date and day display at the 3 o'clock position is framed with a three-dimensional border, making it easy to see against the blue dial.

The case features a round dial set in a tonneau-shaped case.
The top of the case is finished with a hairline finish, while the sides and edges combine a polished finish.
By dividing the finish on each surface, the linear outline of the case is clearly visible, and a different luster appears every time the angle is changed.
The lugs extend outward from the case, and the line that narrows toward the tips tightens the overall look.
The combination of the round dial and the powerful case creates a presence unique to this individual piece.

■Movement

The movement is equipped with the 25-jewel automatic Cal.6106A.
It features day and date displays, and the date can be advanced by pushing the crown in.
It is also characterized by the fact that the second hand stops when setting the time, allowing the time to be set down to the second.

■Styling

The case size is 41.1 mm (H) (including lugs) / 38 mm (W) (including crown) / 10.8 mm (T) / 45 g (including strap)

Because the blue dial and vivid indices catch the eye, the color scheme of the watch stands out well when you keep the colors of your outfit subdued, such as with a white or gray cut-and-sewn top or a navy shirt.
If paired with denim or chinos, it creates a casual look that also makes use of the power of the tonneau-shaped case.

The current black leather strap tightens the vividness of the dial and gives the overall look a calm impression.
Even when pairing it with a jacket, rather than a formal suit, a slightly relaxed look such as a denim jacket or a casual tailored jacket is recommended.

All watches we handle undergo an internal inspection by a professional watchmaker upon arrival, and we only sell them after determining that they are genuine, so you can use them with peace of mind.

We will attach a new leather strap and deliver it to you when you purchase the watch.

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not hand them over immediately upon your order,
but rather request a professional craftsman to perform an overhaul (hereinafter OH), and deliver them after the OH is completed. (The period is approximately 1–2 months.)

A professional craftsman with a first-class watch repair technician qualification will completely disassemble the watch, replace consumable parts such as internal gaskets, and perform a thorough OH including cleaning and oiling,
adjusting it to a state of approximately ±1 minute per day.
Also, upon delivery, we will send our store's unique OH certificate, as well as photos of the machine disassembly
and maintenance, so you can see what kind of work was performed during the OH.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being pre-owned, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we provide this level of service so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch
and use it with peace of mind in the future, so please understand.

At the time of purchase, we offer a 1-year warranty period depending on the model. Even for products past the period, although it will be for a fee,
we do accept repair services. Even if you do not have a repair shop nearby, please feel free to consult us.
