Introducing the Seiko " 45 King Seiko Superior Chronometer" made in 1970 .
The Cal. 4502A used in King Seiko is a movement that was refurbished for commercial use from a mechanism developed by Daini Seikosha Kameido Factory for chronometer competitions.
Commonly known as the " 45 series machine," it was created as a rival to Suwa Seikosha, which was developing Grand Seiko at the time.
Their skills were well-known, and they came in second place among strong manufacturers at the 1967 Neuchâtel Chronometer Competition in Switzerland.
The following year, in 1968 , it officially passed the Japan Chronometer Association Certification for the first time.
Furthermore, it meets Seiko's unique " GS standard" and was later installed in Grand Seiko, making it a masterpiece movement that cannot be left out when talking about Seiko history.
■Dial and case design
The Seiko " 45 King Seiko Chronometer Superior" we are introducing this time is a model that features the words " CHRONOMETER " and " SUPERIOR " at the 12 o'clock position on the dial.
The Superior designation is known to be a rare specification, with a limited number of units produced.
The dial is a silver dial with a sunray finish that reflects light radially.
The upright bar indexes are matched with bar hands, both of which have black centers.
In addition to being highly visible, the details give the car a more refined look.
The clean design makes the markings at the 12 o'clock position stand out.
The case has an attractive, sharp surface structure that is characteristic of the 45 King Seiko.
The line runs seamlessly from the bezel to the lugs, and the thin, wide outline gives the wrist a clean look.
When viewed from the side, the case's slim profile stands out, and it fits easily under a shirt sleeve.
With its mirror-like shine and sharp edges, the case design exudes a refined look befitting the name "Superior."
■ Movement

The movement is a 25 -jewel hand-wound Cal. 4402A .
The early model has a sickle-shaped lever on the top of the mechanism for the hacking function that stops the second hand, but this watch is a later model and does not have a lever.
It is highly refined and boasts stable operation and high precision.
This movement is highly practical as it is equipped with a date function and the date can be adjusted by turning the crown.
■Styling
Case size: height: 41.3mm , width: 39.5mm , thickness: 9.0mm , weight: 44g .
This case features striking, beautiful lines and can be used in a wide range of situations, from business to private.
It can be coordinated with a variety of styles, from jackets to casual styles such as sweatshirts and T- shirts.
■ Condition
The condition of the case is good with only minor scratches from use and no noticeable scratches.
There is no particular damage to the medallion on the back cover.
The dial is in excellent condition with no noticeable stains or imperfections.
The movement is running smoothly and the hacking and calendar functions are working properly.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand over the watch to you upon receiving your order. Instead, we have a professional overhaul (hereinafter referred to as OH) the watch, and then we deliver it to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1-2 months.)
Our specialized craftsmen, who are first-class watch repair technicians, will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine to you, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which will show you what kind of overhaul work was done on the machine, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and serviced.
Of course, since the product itself is a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we have taken this approach so that you can enjoy the watch's inherent performance and use it with peace of mind in the future.
When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will still repair the product, but there will be a fee. Even if there is no repair shop nearby, please feel free to contact us.
