Introducing the Seiko " 56 Grand Seiko" made in 1971 .
The first Grand Seiko ( GS ) was born in 1960 with the ambition to "create a Japanese-made watch that can rival any Swiss-made watch."
At the beginning of development, Seiko set its own unique precision standards that were far more strict than common sense at the time.
Some people said it might be impossible to commercialize the watch, but by utilizing the technology they had cultivated in the high-precision model "Marvel" and their first high-end model, "Lord Marvel," they finally achieved standards equivalent to the superior grade of Swiss chronometers.
At the time of release, only watches that met the high accuracy standard of within -3 to +12 seconds per day were considered to have passed the test and were sold with a certificate.
Since then, Grand Seiko has continued to evolve as Seiko's flagship for over 60 years.
The 56 Grand Seiko is a classic model representing the 1970s .
This model was born as the ideal practical watch that Seiko presented for the next era.
The distinctive case is designed based on Grand Seiko's unique aesthetic sense, the "Seiko Style," which combines sharp, multi-faceted cuts with careful chamfering.
The sharp case lines tighten the profile, and the mirror finish, which reflects even the slightest light with the same sharpness as a Japanese sword, accentuates the watch's dignified appearance.
The dial changes to an off-white ivory color over time, and a fine spot pattern emerges, giving it a soft texture similar to that of Japanese paper.
The upright Seiko logo and bar indexes are rich in three-dimensionality, and the careful finish is an example of craftsmanship.
The combination of simple design and aging achieves both visibility and a Japanese aesthetic.
Combining practicality with the distinctive vintage style, this is a watch that truly embodies the essence of Grand Seiko.
The movement is a 25 jewel automatic, Cal. 5606A.
A high-beat model that achieves 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Boasting extremely high precision, stable operation, a simple yet durable design, and easy maintenance, this watch can be said to be the perfect example of a domestically produced automatic movement at the time.
Furthermore, it is highly practical, with features such as a hack function that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled out, and the ability to fast-forward the date and day of the week simply by operating the crown.
Size: height: 41.1mm , width: 37.3mm , thickness: 10.5mm , weight: 46g .
It has a simple design that is highly practical, but the sharp luster of the Seiko style gives it a strong presence when worn.
Not only does it go well with suits and jackets, but it is also stylish, so you can incorporate it into casual styles such as shirt styles and denim jackets.
Condition: The case has some small scratches from use, but no major damage such as chips.
The medallion on the back cover is in good condition with no chips.
There is a small scratch on the glass windshield near the 6 o'clock position.
The dial has changed due to aging, but there is no problem with visibility.
The movement is running smoothly and all functions, including the calendar, work without any problems.
Equipped with Bambi Scotchguard Black.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.
