The Lord Matic is a series of mechanical watches by Seiko, first introduced in 1968.

While Grand Seiko and King Seiko were positioned as high-end models, the Lord Matic gained popularity as a practical watch featuring an easy-to-use automatic winding mechanism and sophisticated design for everyday wear.

The "Lord Matic Special" produced by Daini Seikosha emerged as a derivative model.
Unlike the 56 series movements commonly used in standard models, it is equipped with a 52 series movement, boasting 28,800 vibrations per hour.
It is a high-performance model of the Lord Matic, aiming for smoother second hand movement and more stable accuracy.

In the 1970s, as the watch industry transitioned from mechanical to quartz, this series allowed enthusiasts to enjoy Seiko's mechanical technology and the diverse designs characteristic of the era.

■Dial and Case Design

The dial features a deep green color.
A radial sunray finish extends from the center to the outer edge, revealing a vibrant green when it catches the light, and changing to a calm, almost black hue depending on the angle.

The indexes are three-dimensional bar types with a black line in the center.
The hands feature a similar design, tightening the vibrant dial and giving the overall look a sense of unity.

At the 3 o'clock position, there is a day-date display with a metal frame.
At the 6 o'clock position, along with the gold-colored "LM" mark, there is the inscription "SPECIAL 25 JEWELS" and a lightning bolt mark indicating Daini Seikosha.

Surrounding the green dial is a warm gold-colored bezel.
While the combination of deep green and gold adds a touch of splendor, the stainless steel case tightens the overall look, resulting in an exquisite color balance that is not overly decorative.

What's even more eye-catching is the faceted glass with its bold chamfering.
Multiple facets on the glass surface refract light, reflecting parts of the dial as if cut out, creating a geometric appearance depending on the viewing angle.

The movement installed is the automatic "Cal.5216A," developed by Daini Seikosha.

While the 56 series, commonly used in regular Lord Matic watches, vibrated at 21,600 vph, the Cal.5216A is a high-beat specification with 28,800 vph.
By increasing the vibration frequency, it aims for stable accuracy and achieves a precise and smooth second hand movement.

It uses 25 jewels and features both automatic and manual winding functions.
Equipped with a hack function that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled, allowing for precise time setting.
Additionally, the day and date display at the 3 o'clock position can be quick-set via the crown.

The Cal.5216A was developed based on its predecessor, the Cal.5206A, with improvements to the calendar mechanism.
It is a movement that symbolizes the Lord Matic Special, combining ease of use in daily life with the performance unique to high-beat movements.

■Styling

Case size: Length 38.9mm (including lugs) / Width 36.9mm (including crown) / Thickness 11.5mm / Weight 80g (including strap).

The deep green dial and gold-colored bezel serve as striking accents to your outfit.

With soft colors like white or off-white shirts paired with beige or brown trousers, the warmth of green and gold blends in naturally.

■Condition

The faceted glass crystal has been replaced with a genuine dead stock item.
It is in a clear, scratch-free condition, allowing you to enjoy the three-dimensional reflections unique to faceted glass and the beautiful hues of the green dial.

The case, original bracelet, and gold-colored bezel show minor scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use.
Additionally, there is a ding on the lower right lug when viewed from the front, but this does not affect its use in any way.

Aside from these, there are no significant damages that would greatly detract from its appearance, and it remains in good condition for a watch over half a century old.

The movement is also running well, making it a recommended piece for daily use.

■To ensure your peace of mind when purchasing

All watches handled by our store undergo an internal inspection by a professional watchmaker upon arrival, and are sold only after being confirmed as genuine.

When you purchase a watch, we will attach a new leather strap.

● Important Information after Purchasing an Antique Watch – Please read carefully ●

At RESUME, when selling antique watches, we do not deliver them immediately after your order. Instead, we request an overhaul (OH) from a specialist craftsman, and delivery will be made after the OH is completed (this typically takes about 1-2 months).

A specialist craftsman, certified as a Class 1 watch repair technician, will completely disassemble the watch, replace worn parts such as internal gaskets, clean, and lubricate it.
The watch will be thoroughly overhauled and serviced to an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per day.
Upon delivery, we will also provide our unique OH certificate, along with photos of the movement disassembly and servicing, to explain the work performed.

Of course, due to the nature of pre-owned products, there is no absolute guarantee against breakdowns. However, we take these measures to ensure you can fully enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future. We appreciate your understanding.

When purchasing a product, a 1-year warranty period is provided, depending on the model. Even after the period has passed, repairs can be accommodated for a fee.
