Introducing the Seiko Marvel, made in 1957 .
Seiko's Marvel, which was released in 1956 , was an ambitious product developed with the aim of creating a world-class watch.
The small movements that were mainstream at the time were deliberately enlarged to pursue high precision, durability, and ease of maintenance.
This is a historic masterpiece from Seiko that has achieved overwhelming results in competitions both in Japan and abroad, and with its capabilities that surpass those of Swiss-made watches, it has overturned the preconceived notion that ``Japanese-made watches = low quality.''
The Marvel, released by Seiko in 1956 , is a brilliant watch that shines brightly in the history of Japanese wristwatches.
The clean white dial has the refined and dignified look that is typical of Seiko from the 1950s .
The design, which does not rely on unnecessary decoration or color, is simple yet elegant, quietly demonstrating the honesty and high level of perfection that was characteristic of Seiko at the time.
Of particular note is the " S " mark at the 12 o'clock position.
This particular watch features engraved lettering directly on the dial, a valuable detail unique to Marvel's early days.
It is understated yet has a definite presence, quietly tightening the entire dial.
The indexes are also engraved directly into the dial.
The flat design echoes the engraved " S " mark at the 12 o'clock position, creating a modest yet highly refined look.
The understated design evokes the straightforward aesthetic sense typical of Seiko in the 1950s .
The case is made of 14k gold-plated material.
Rather than a flashy shine, it features the subdued color that is unique to gold plating, and the soft texture that develops over time gives the overall impression of elegance.
The design, which is captivating through the beauty of the materials and shape itself, quietly conveys the idea of "high-quality practical items" that Seiko aimed for in the 1950s .
The movement is a hand-wound type with 19 jewels.
It is equipped with a precious movement known as the "red mechanism," and features a reddish finish on the base plate and bridges, an extremely rare detail found only in a limited number of Marvel models.
The hand-wound movement, which achieved a high level of perfection despite being produced in the early days of mass production, still maintains stable operation today, quietly conveying the solidity of Seiko's technological capabilities from the 1950s .
Case size: height: 38.1mm , width: 34mm , thickness: 9.2mm , weight: 29g .
This model has a neat and dignified look, and goes well with suits, but also blends naturally with classic jackets and shirts.
The combination of the white dial and 14k gold-plated case adds a subtle elegance to the overall look, elegantly enhancing the wrist without being too assertive.
A piece that quietly accompanies you as an extension of your everyday life, regardless of age or trends.
This is a dignified vintage watch that is perfect for everyday wear, not just special occasions.
The case is in good condition with no gold peeling or scratches.
There is some discoloration on the dial around 3 o'clock, but this does not affect visibility.
The movement is running smoothly and can be used without any problems.
