Introducing the Seiko Laurel, made in 1959 .

The Laurel was born in 1913 as Japan's first wristwatch.
At the time, pocket watches were still the norm, so the production of wristwatches was an extremely advanced endeavor.

The small case is 29.6mm in diameter and is equipped with a hand-wound 12- inch movement.
It features a classic and neat design.

Annual production is limited to only 30 to 50 units, making it an extremely rare model with few in existence.

The Laurel was the first wristwatch made in Japan by Seiko (then Seikosha), and occupies an extremely important position in the history of domestically produced watches.

In 1913 , the Laurel made its mark in history as Japan's first wristwatch.
This model, which inherited its name and was revived after the war, is a watch that strongly retains Seiko's classic design.

The dial is a warm silver dial with a slight cream tint.
Aging gives the surface a slightly matte texture, giving it the rich look that only a vintage piece can have.

The index is a gold-colored three-dimensional upright bar index.
It shines quietly in the light, giving a sense of rich depth to its simple composition.
In particular, the thick bar indexes positioned at the 3 , 6 , 9 , and 12 o'clock positions tighten the overall balance, achieving both visibility and a stylish design.

The hands are slim and long, designed as dolphin hands, enhancing the delicate impression of the dial.

The Laurel has a tranquil and refined appearance, but the attention to detail in its design is apparent.

The movement is a hand-wound movement with 17 jewels.

Equipped with " Diashock (earthquake-resistant device)".
At the time, Seiko's movements had improved durability and precision, making them highly reliable for use in practical watches.

Size: height: 39.7mm , width: 35.1mm , thickness: 8.9mm , weight: 31g .

Its compact size makes it easy to wear for both men and women.

The simple yet classic design makes it suitable for a wide range of occasions, from formal to everyday use.
Another attractive feature is its versatility, allowing it to blend in with a variety of styles.

As for condition, the case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches or chips and can be worn without any problems.
The dial shows some spots and dullness due to aging, but does not affect visibility.
The movement is running smoothly and there are no particular issues.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand over the watch to you upon receiving your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul it (hereinafter referred to as OH) and deliver it to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.

When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will properly repair the product, but there will be a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
