Introducing Smith's "Deluxe" from the 1950s .

Smith is a historic watch manufacturer founded in the UK by Samuel Smith in 1851. The name Smith became famous when the British Everest expedition was the first to summit the world's highest mountain in 1953 .

One of the members of the expedition, adventurer Sir Edmund Hillary, wore a Smith Deluxe watch when he successfully climbed Mount Everest, and it continued to keep accurate time without stopping, even in one of the harshest environments in the world.

The Deluxe is Smith's signature model, highly popular as a reliable watch that can operate even in harsh environments and also for its wide range of options.

The Smith "Deluxe" we are introducing this time is an impressive watch with a classic design featuring a solid 9K case and blued steel hands.

The dial is a striking white one with beautiful fading due to aging.
The dial is surrounded by dark gold Arabic indexes, giving it a sophisticated look.

The hands are alpha hands, which are characterized by their classic look.
The hands appear blue due to the "blue steel" finish found in luxury watches.
Each hand is hardened by a craftsman, and their deep blue color beautifully colors the dial.

The inside of the case is made of solid 9K gold and is stamped with the British gold hallmark.

The thin-edged "cylinder case" has a delicate and elegant design when viewed from the front, but its solid thickness gives it a sense of strength when viewed from the side.

The "Deluxe" model is a watch that truly embodies Smith's classic design, combining the appearance and style of a British watch.

The case back is engraved with the words "Celebrating 45 years of service as Director of London Midlands Regional Television."

The movement is a hand-wound movement with 15 jewels.

It has a sturdy construction that is characterized by its solid thickness.
The durability of the movement is guaranteed as it has operated in the harsh environment of Mount Everest.

Furthermore, the powder gold finish makes this movement look beautiful.

Size: height: 36.2mm , width: 30.5mm , thickness: 7.4mm , weight: 31g .

Although it is a little on the small side, thanks to the deluxe design and coloring, you won't feel unsatisfied when wearing it.
Naturally it goes well with suits and jackets, but it also looks perfectly natural when paired with shirts and denim, making it a versatile design that can be incorporated into a variety of outfits.

The case is in good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The dial shows signs of aging, but there is no problem with visibility.
The movement is in good condition and works without any problems.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will still repair the product for a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
