Introducing Waltham "Premium" from the 1950s .

American watch manufacturing methods that make it possible to mass-produce watches using interchangeable parts.
Waltham, America's oldest watch brand, is the company that put this production method into practice.

Founder Aaron Lufkin Denison established the predecessor company of Waltham in 1849 .

Using American watch-making techniques, they hold the record for mass-producing 30 pocket watches per week.

In 1885 , the company name was changed to "American Waltham Watch Company."
This is the first Waltham branded watch to be sold.
During World War II, the company continued to specialize in producing munitions for the US military.

Waltham has since continued to produce elegant and prestigious watches, even after moving its headquarters to Switzerland.

Produced in the 1950s , the Waltham "Premium" is an extremely rare piece equipped with a Lemania movement.
In addition to the movement, the exterior has also been given special attention.

The dial is a white one with a sunburst finish.
The original white color has changed to an uneven beige color over the course of more than 70 years.

The gold color of the case and indexes create a unified look, resulting in a unique dial that is beautifully harmonious, albeit by chance.

The index is an upright bar index that has been cut to enhance its glossy finish.
The thick and large dolphin hands create a powerful look.
In addition, milled dot indexes are placed on the outer periphery.

It is clear that the dial was made with great effort and cost.

The case is luxuriously finished with 40 micron gold plating.

Given the refinement of the dial and elegance of the case, there is no doubt that this watch was produced as a high-end model by Waltham, and it is worthy of the name "Premier."

The movement is a hand-wound, 23- jewel Cal.3064 .

The Lemania Cal. 3064 originally uses 17 jewels, but for Waltham it was changed to 23 jewels.

The word " ADJUST " is engraved on the watch, which indicates that the precision has been adjusted.

Furthermore, the movement bridge is inlaid with Cotes de Genève and the main plate is inlaid with Perl Rouge, and attention has been paid not only to precision but also to the beauty of the movement when viewed.

Size: height: 43.7mm , width: 37.8mm , thickness: 9.8mm , weight: 43g .

It is somewhat large for a watch from the 1950s , and is designed so that the face of the watch can be seen clearly even from a distance.

As the gold ages, it takes on a pale luster, without any of the gaudy look that is typical of gold; instead, it becomes a color that blends well with the skin.

It goes well with black suits, jackets, coats, and denim items, and adds color to dark-colored outfits.

In terms of condition, when looking at the case from the front, there is some gold peeling on part of the lug on the upper left side.
There are some scratches on the back cover.
There is no problem with using either one.
The dial has aged, but there is no peeling or other damage and visibility is good.
The movement is in beautiful, rust-free condition and runs smoothly.

When selling antique watches at RESUME, we do not immediately hand them over to you when you place your order. Instead, we ask a professional craftsman to overhaul them (hereafter referred to as OH) and deliver them to you after the OH is completed. (This takes about 1 to 2 months.)

A professional craftsman with first-class watch repair technician qualifications will completely disassemble your watch, replace worn parts such as the internal gaskets, clean it, oil it, and perform a thorough overhaul, maintaining it to a daily accuracy of about ±1 minute.
When we deliver the machine, we will also send you our own overhaul certificate, which shows what kind of overhaul was performed, as well as photos of the machine being disassembled and maintained.

Of course, due to the nature of the product itself being a second-hand item, there is no guarantee that it will never break, but we ask for your understanding that we take this approach so that you can enjoy the original performance of the watch and use it with peace of mind in the future.

When you purchase a product, we offer a one-year warranty depending on the model. Even if the warranty period has expired, we will still repair the product for a fee. If there is no repair shop near you, please feel free to contact us.
